i had a reveiw of this trail posted, and some *$&@ form Orion Power or something, who ever it is thats buying NYMO email me personally and warn me that "the trail is posted" and some other stuff. i found it amusing yet... appauling that they either have enough time to check MOUNTAIN BIKE websites to make sure thier trail is safe or something. I replied and asked if he was a corporate guy or a fellow biker, and he didnt reply... dead give away.

Summary:
Just for all of ya that did not read the other reviews, it is illegal, which is ridiculous because the power plant and everything else is on the other side of the gorge. Anyway the trail, depending on which way, is technical, up and down, over rocks and through trees. And there is fast, slow and frustrating sections. And there are many additions to the trail depending on how well you know Trenton Falls. The one problem that I can find is it is short. So that is why you have to find additions in the surrounding woods.

Recommended Route:
I recommend that you access the trail taking a left off of Dover rd after the dog(!) house go uphill then downhill on the powerlines and take a right. This is where you have to choose between a fast or technical route. I prefer the technical, but the fast has its place, especially when the sun has set or you are cramming a quick ride in. And the technical route is right on the border of the gorge, so if nothing else, it is a good view. Besides, live life to the fullest, if you are gonna trespass, you might as well get the most of it.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Anything in Hinkley, they are mostly state land so legal, but ATV width with the only obstacles being hills. Maybe a few sharp turns and wear long sleaves or suffer the rath of prickers. And there is this one trail that is really fun, quick left-rights, some mud and bumps, but I have no idea where it is. I just stumbled upon it, and have not had that look again.

Summary:
Good trail, lots of fun, especially with the thought of potentially having to evade the orion power people at the bottom -- could end badly, but damn it would be fun eh?

Recommended Route:
One thing i did not see mentioned yet is that there are two different routes you can take. First, you enter just past the house with a chain link fence around it at a rather trail head. Go uphill for a while, and eventually you will follow a tight line through ferns underneath orions power lines (oops!). At the base of that, you are faced with a choice: you can either take the smoother, faster route on the left (the "norm") or, you can take the tight, techy route, to the right. The one of the right is kind of hard to see, but if you walk in about 5 meters, you should see it going down a short, steep hill, and following rather closely to the rim of the gorge. I would almost go so far as to say i prefer this route because of the added challenge, but then again, there is nothing like truckin' down the other one at high speed. On a side note, if your bored and have [big burly arms and a hand saw] a chainsaw and spare time, the last time i took the "techy route" there were 2 trees across the trail that should be removed. (I have small arms and no chain saw.)

Other recommended trails in the same area:
After your back on pavement at the bridge, turn left and go up the paved road to Simpson Road, on your right. Once you pump your way to the top of the hill, there will be (about 50 meters past the top) a farm road on your right with a cable across the enterance, and a biker-route on the left of it. Go straight (right is the same thing, just a little longer) and then cruise through the feilds until it goes into the woods (around 1.5 miles later). From there, your on your own; i know of three different routes, but dont have the time (or space) to describe them. Good luck, have fun, ride hard!

Summary:
New owners at the power company. Haven't seen any trespass arrests lately and I live right there. I've even seen some people in the Prospect Gorge not being harassed. Simpson road is seasonal and hard dirt/stone/sand with a nice steep warm up at Dover Road end. I ride it up to Hinckley State Forest roads and the non motorized(LOL) ATV trails.

Who the hell is such a pussy that cannot say there name. Do you really think someone from orion power will hunt you down and staple your nuts to a live power line. Come on people, you live you die, but you don't have to be a pussy

The trail is awsome. It is like the slickrock of barneveld.

Recommended Route:
The whole deal, ride the whole deal, the uphill is like a downpayment for the crazy downhill carnage. Me and MikeB will soon update the trail on this illegal property. Mike cover me i am gonna build a jump here.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Simpson road. Power lines. The gravesville pit.
