Lippman Park

Average Rating:    (4.33 of 5)

A new trail system with something for everyone. Just last year we started work with the local town officials to develop a network of single track in Lippman Park. To date we have about 14 miles with more being added all the time.
We have plenty of man-made features, log skinnies, bermed turns and bridges. In the spring of 2011 we will be adding a 65 foot suspended bridge over one of the small ravines.

Summary:
Lippman Park has many awesome trails. Each trail seems to have its own character. Some are fast and flowy, some rocky and rooty, others tight and twisty. Two fun trails (5 and 7) tend to be somewhat rough while climbing or descending. Trails 15 and 16 are fast and flowy. Trail 17 has lots of twists and turns.

Recommended Route:
I would suggest hooking up with someone who knows the trails, or check out the renegadesmtb.com website or facebook page. They usually have a group ride there once a week. If you are unable to hook up, print a map from their website and ride the trails in progression for starting with trail 1.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Camp Orange, Middletown. Walnut Mountain, Liberty. Stewart, Newburgh.

Summary:
These trails were built in BMX style. They have a lot of turns, utilizing every inch of the park witha bit of butchery. They put a lot of time into trial building, but I'm afraid they are slow and have no flow. They tend to be a bit frustrating because everytime you want to open up with some speed your sent between two trees about half the width of your bars. or are constantly turning 180 degrees.. Sadley, very unsatisfying.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Jockey hill, Shapeneke Ridge

Summary:
This trails are very well marked and the whole place is a lot of fun. I've been twice and will definitely be going back. I enjoyed trails 15, 16, 17 a lot, but all trails were good. I think there is something for everyone here from the beginner to the advanced rider.

Summary:
These trails are awesome! They offer something for everyone from flat and flowy to technical rooty and rocky. This year I began to ride a SS and this is my favorite place to come, enough elevation gain to get my lungs working but not to hard to scare me from riding.
The Renegades also do a great job maintaining these trails when the weather doesn't completely sabotage things and then they work hard to fix them or reroute them to a better area if needs be.

Recommended Route:
All the trails are fun but I enjoy 16, 15, 6 and 7.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Onteora Lake and Jockey Hill
