Summary:
This is known as Train Park trails located off of Trian Street. Trails are very good and offer series of climps along with switch backs, logs, roots, a couple small drops and an overall good lung work out. My buddies and I generally commit 1 1/2 hours and have a great time. Been riding here for over 10 years and still enjoy it.

Summary:
This place kind of sounds like Tryon Park which is great news because if it isnt its nice to know there is more than once place around here I might like. I can tell you a little about Tryon Park. Tryon is popular locally because it's really all we have. Most other parks are tame and bikes are really not liked. Tryon on the other hand is demanding, technical and can be physically trying if you want it to be. Another good thing is that while Tryon is a City owned Park it seems the City of Rochester doesnt exactly act like they own it meaning its falling apart and forgotten in every way (but I think a lot of us believe it makes for a more interesting ride). Speaking of interesting You have to be careful there. A few years back we had a few punk kids try to mug us. At first I wasn't sure how we were going to handle the situation but these guys playing paint ball came over and assisted us. So that worked out ok but Ive heard a few other stories about similar incidents from fellow bikers and hikers Ive met while riding there. It seems as long as you go when others are playing there too (weekends) you should be ok. Overall I would say there is a lot there for everyone. Lots of places to roam mean a lot of mtb'ers like it. Now then if I might digress and just rant for a moment What is with this annoying join RIT cycling bullshit? It sounds like a little bit of insecurity to me. Why not just tell people about the trails and if we (we being the folks reading this post) ever meet up with you (you being a representative from the RIT cycling club) some time on said trail then you could try pitching the idea of us joining the club right there on the spot. You could easily spread the word that way and ask those you talk to if they would help spread the word as well. Maybe bring some flyers with you to hand out or is that not rude enough to be hard core like Im so sure you are. http://www.rochestercityliving.com/neighborhoods/cwmain/Biker%20in%20Tryon%20Park.JPG And http://www.win.net/~rbcbbs/rocnmcp.htm

For directions check out http://maps.yahoo.com for the most efficient route from your location, just plug in "tryon park" and "rochester, ny"

The overall rating I'm going to give here is going to be for Tryon and at the very least I hope I've added somthing positive to this post.

Don't know it, haven't ridden it, don't love it. What a stupid addition to the trails list. If you want to keeep it a secret, then shut up about it. This is not really in keeping with the spirit of this board.

don't know!!

I travel to Rochester (specifically RIT) at least 6 times per year. It's hard to believe that there are any trails in that area that can compare to the trails that we ride in the Catskills and Adirondacks. But then again we will never know because no-one has told us where these highly rated trails are located! How about it guys are you going to give it up?
