Hunter Trail @ Orchard Beach

Average Rating:    (2.33 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 3

Upon entering the trail you will many dividing paths, but you must stay on the general wide trail, which loops for about 1.5 miles. Throughout the trail, there are a few short, mild climbs and enough technicals (obstacles) for the beginning off-road rider to enjoy. There are a few short descents, but nothing for a pure downhiller to brag about. When exiting the trail, if you keep to the left the is another series of single-track that will lead you back to the main trail. RIDERS MUST USE CAUTION: There are equestrians who also use this trail, so please utilize the utmost courtesy when riding at your own pace. We must exercise safety on this trail.

Summary:
I ride hunter trail at orchard beach somewhat frequently because i live nearby and it's pretty fun once you get to know the area. You can utilize the short trail by turning off the main trail onto some narrow single tracks that run all throughout. If you are quiet enough, you might spot deer that run about. For a little challenge, turn in towards the water when you see a WHITE TRASH CAN. there you will find a wooden foot bridge that spans about 2 hundred feet. You can ride it to a small island.I must strongly recommend mosquito spray. Have fun!

Recommended Route:
Enter from beach walk located at the end of the beach. gravelly road.

Summary:
easy trail to practice and get skills a somewhat safe workout. perfect for the average rider who likes the wilderness but doesn't want to wild'out, although you can turn it up a notch and find a couple of drops here and there...over all its an okay ride. steer clear of not trees but homosexuals that like to frolic in the bushes and trails, nothing like running over a basking fruit.

Recommended Route:
pelham pkwy. all the way up to pelham bay park. when u reach pelham bay just follow the paved bike path going north and you'll be in orchard in 15 mins or less.
