its good but you need to get used to the really steep hills. It is mosly a running trail that some people bike. Overall it is a good trail. I once wiped out on a sand patch going downhill... some one should fix that!

Summary:
I am a beginner when it comes to trail riding and this trail can be very challenging if you're pushing yourself. It's got 2 or 3 short, but hard, hills. It also has a couple of pretty steep descents and the whole trail is covered in wood chips, so it can be exciting with traction. It does have a quite a bit of pretty even flat stuff that you can push hard on as well. For veterans, it's probably not much of anything, but if you've ridden Cathedral Pines and the family routes of Rocky Point and want something more challenging, check Dix Hills out.

Recommended Route:
I went on the 1.8 mile route beginning in the back left corner of the parking lot next to the driving range.

Summary:
This trail is used mostly for running and horseback riding, but it open to bikers. It is really short. There is one short climb that makes it interting because of the sand - keeping your traction can be a balancing act. Not a trail that I would recommend driving to, but if you're in the area, its nice.

Recommended Route:
Dix Hills Park. Park in the lot next to the driving range - the entrace is in back left corner of the lot.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Rocky Point, Bethpage

Summary:
This trail is pretty good for a beginner/intermediate. I Haven't ridden many other trails besides this one but i like it. some tough hills and controling yourself on the sand makes it even harder. try it.

Recommended Route:
once you enter dix hills park (off of vanderbilt pkwy) ride towards the fence left of the entrance to the park. Theres a rock and a sign that says the trails starts here. follow it. its pretty hard to get lost. if you followed it correctly you should come out of the opening next to the fence on the opposite right side of the entrance to the park.
