Summary:
Great trial, rocky and fast paced. I use this trail weekly as part of my night ride. Loop onto Prospect Mt, or drop over Wilkie Mt to Butler Pond Trials. You can spend hours of trails that all connect in this area.

Recommended Route:
Cross over from Wilkie or just start at the bottom of Prospect at the Stewarts and hit the trails across the road. You need to jump a fence to do this, so, its up to you.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Butler Pond, Sleeping Beauty Mt, Buck Mt, or the Peggy Ann Trails.

Summary:
If you are staying in Lake George and only have limited time this is a great place since you can ride there from downtown. You must love to climb to ride here. The first few miles are all up hill and depending on the weather it will affect you. I was there for 2 hazy, hot, humid days and this greatly added to the difficulty. I did not ride any of the trails once you reach the top but instead stayed on the main trail and continued uphill once again. This lead to the top of Prospect Mountain Parking Lot. Try riding early in the morning or late in the afternoon and if you are there during summer bring the insect repellent. This trail is also quite techincal in some parts and I had to have a couple of controlled dismounts on the way down along with a few short walking sections on the way up. Again if it is cooler out and you can climb you will consider this a great place to ride while the family is back at the lake.

Recommended Route:
From Downtown Lake George Head North on 9/9N. Near the end of town take the left fork to continue on 9. Stay on 9 under the entrance to interstste 87 and then pass Fran's Cove Motel. Make a left unto Big Hollow Road and continue uphill until it turns to gravel. Continue on Gravel and ride through Drainage Tubes that go under 87. The Trail will go left and then after a sand area will go right. Just stay on the main trail and at this point it will start to go uphill. At the 1st fork go right to continue uphill. Just keep climbing and eventually you will reach a level part of the trail with a telephone pole line off to your right. Stay on main trail and follow to your left at intersection where there will be Traffic Signs facing people coming from the other direction. At this point the trail will again start to climb and get steep. After a little while you will reach the Prospect Mountain Parking area. After checking out the view you can ride back down.

Summary:
Very cool ride. The beginning is a very steep climb with lots of loose rocks. The climb I think is the hardest part of the trail, it just goes and goes. But once past the steep climb the trail evens out a little and opens up to a bunch of great XC riding trails going in all directions. There can be a lot of mud and water to go through as well as a couple streams. It will definitely get you in shape.

Recommended Route:
Once you get to the big culverts by the Northway just follow the rocky road, and stay on the main path. And it will soon lead you to Warrensburg.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Butler pond Lake Gorge loop, Butler pond woods trails.

Summary:
Mostly intermediate riding, good singletrack can be found with some exploration.Nice hairy ride down if you come back down the way you went up.Careful after it rains as the rocks across the top get very slippery. All in all a great place to ride, will get you in shape. If you can't climb,go somewhere else.

Recommended Route:
If you don't want to ride the road from Warrensburg back to Lake George, when you hit the dirt road, turn around and go back. It's a great ride back down as well.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Berry Pond is a nice ride also.
