Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail system has been expanded and formalized over the last few years, and will continue to improve. There is something for everyone here; and combined with Whiteface makes a good destination for a weekend of riding; especially if you aren't afraid of some challenging terrain. Recommended Route: Advanced- Ridge trail, Upper Whiteface Connector, Marble Connector(to the reservoir), Rock Garden trail, River Trail(currently unmarked)
Moderate- Cedar trail, Erratic Trail, Delta Trail
Easiest- Corridor trail, Lower Whiteface connector Other recommended trails in the same area: Lots of new singletrack is being built in Wilmington. A 700 acre parcel off of Hardy Road is where most of the new trail is going in currently. Otherwise a large number of the underground local trails around Lake Placid should become entirely legal soon(long story), so stay posted. Mt Van Hoevenburg is a nice place for beginners, but most folks will loose interest quickly there- especially since there is lots of good free riding nearby for those willing to explore a bit.
