Hartwick College trails

Lots of potential here, with a little maintenance these trails could be a lot of fun. Mostly ATV-style trails, some fun downhill sections on the Western side. You can make many loops incorporating the Table Rock area and these downhill trails. Just do some exploring and see what you get. I wouldn't recommend making a long trip for these trails, but if you're a local they're a good way to get in regular training rides, get a quick fix, or just whittle away an afternoon.

Summary:
Not too many great things, but nothing too degrading either (undavoidable mudholes, etc). With some work (hopefully this fall/winter) there is definitely potential for some sweet stuff. Singletrack needs to be raked (ahh, don't they all) and hopefully there will soon be some fun technical options (drops and chutes). This is a great place for night rides, especially when the ground is good and frozen and there's an inch of snow on the ground for reflection.

Recommended Route:
Go up Job Corps, down Sosa's singletrack (actual name?), across Strawberry Fields and past the maintenance area, then either bear left down the fire road.

Soon to be: on the fire road downhill, took to the right for a singletrack entrance. This will loop around a rock outcrop and down through a little chute. Wahoo!

Take a stop at Table Rock, watch out for the glass. Head down towards Hartwick Campus on the techy singletrack along the ledge. Bomb down to campus, and proceed to impress all those around by flying off all the terraced lawns there.

Summary:
Like the description says, these trails are a decent excursion for local riders. They're pretty much all on Hartwick or public land, so you don't have to worry about getting chased away.

Recommended Route:
I live in the West End so I ride up Morgan Ave and then head into the woods on the dirt trail at the end of Morgan. I like to ride straight to the top of this trail, then maybe head over to Table Rock, shoot back down and then back up the Morgan road trail, and then ride to the North end of the field and explore those trails a bit. Basically just go and see what you can find. If it looks like a trail, check it out!
