Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Weekend Warrior Summary: This trail appears be no longer maintained. I tried to get on the trail at several points at the apartment complex and school, but I could never go more than 100 or so feet without hitting a dead end or excessive foliage. Maybe there is another way to access better maintained sections, but I didn't see them.

, from roundlake ny Summary: Before I got a real job and moved to the whitebread suburbs I lived in south troy and rode nearly everyday for 7 years in this area. In the 10 years since I moved even more trails have opened up. I rode a few times there last summer and never got to all the trails that you can ride now. There are a bunch more access points If you are in Albany :from I 90 you can take the washington ave exit towards Rennsaleer and park at the elementary school. Behind the school are trails that lead down to the main north south trail. head north and there will lots of trails to your right. a better place to park in Troy is the shopping center across from Hudson Valley CC. you can ride through the apartment complex behind the shopping center. You can also park at Rennsaleer Tech park. there is trails leading from there also. Probaly the best local ride in the Albany/ Troy area
Recommended Route: From under the 378 bridge head south past the honey pot(sewage treatment plant) trails off to the left all the way to rennsaleer. Other recommended trails in the same area: The cliff from prospect park ( there is a trail) nearly straight down. Begins at the overlook where the gas house is directly below you. If you lose it you will tumble all the way down. Only for the really stupid. (like me)

, from Over there Summary: I was skeptical of riding here. I decided to try it anyway. IT was GREAT. It's a weird collection of tails and doublewide trails with old rusted out cars, hills, a polluted, toxic stram. It's South Troy! I saw turkeys and troylettes getting it on. Gobble, Gobble. I saw the gayest dude ever on a Jerry Fisher. He was riding w/o shorts on and pulling his wanker yelling out to the world that he's "hung like a hamster"! I just rode by him. Great trails. Definately worth checking out... Recommended Route: Follow the directions! Other recommended trails in the same area: I ride all over

, from Troy Home for Wayward Boys Summary: These trails do provide a lot of fun riding if you have an hour or two to kill. Definetly keep an eye out for those two nut-baggers mentioned in the other review. And be forewarned its not the guy on the fisher you need to watch out for. I was back there minding my own business when suddenly there was a flash of yellow and when I came to both my tires were flat and my shorts were missing. Other than that though it was a good time. i will definetly be back. next time however I'm bringing spare tubes and tying my shorts on tight! Recommended Route: Drop down behind building apt building 106 then just go with the flow. Other recommended trails in the same area: Skidmore, poop-loop, suny albany (urban assault)

, from ALbany Summary: Awesome trails! A TON of single track. South Troy's best kept secret. I think two dudes maintain these trails. The one on the Gary Fisher looks pretty gay but the other dude is really cool. I wouldn't bend over in front of the Gary Fisher guy! The trails seem to wind and go on for a while. There's an old dump nearby. Good riding over there too. I can't believe this isn't more popular. Recommended Route: the road Other recommended trails in the same area: alaska, new hampshire
