Exp east x58 Nichhol's rd north to Terry Rd.on Left/once in- side past rink to handball qt. in to r along golf crse (start)cross town line rd >>go over 347 cross over slightly north back on trail to Millers Pond follow white markers c/over Maple ave left at town park /follow Wildwood to Blyderburgh pk to Caleb park to the bull just actoss smithtown blvd (N) to Nissequoque river follow the white markers be alert markers on backs of signs on telephone poles on the road.the trail goes behind the old state hospital bldg / to sunkenmeadows park to hectscher state park but thats for another day and if in penn. come look me up / see ya

Summary:
Decent trail for anyone who wants to get a good workout after work, possibly even on their lunch break. Park in Hidden Pond Park (The Rinx) and ride thru the swamps up the hill toward Motor Pkwy, go across and down the powerlines to Old Nichols and then head back up, or start at Lakeland Park (off Johnson Ave. - Islandia) and head north mostly uphill past powerlines, across Motor Pkwy, down into Hidden Ponds and then back. I've even parked in the Hyatt parking lot, next to the Hamlet, and cruised in from Motor Pkwy, when I was crunched for time. The hills are great for getting the legs in shape for bigger stuff up north. Still looks like Motor pkwy from the old days.
Swamps are deep when it rains. Downhill along the powerlines is terrific for getting serious speed!

Recommended Route:
You can't get lost in here, its too small for that, and its surrounded by 2 main roads and a golf course (fence).

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Farmingville, off Rte 83 Northbound side is some really decent trails. You can park at the Brookhaven Ampitheare and ride right in.

Stillwell Woods in Syosset, great parking, great singletrack with different forest types, and some challenging uphill/ downhill mixed in.

Bethpage Greenbelt trail: Park in state park picnic grounds and pick a direction, you'll fing trails in minutes. Rte 135 on the west, and golf courses to the west so you can't get lost here either. Fun afternoon ride.

Rocky Point is nice, long, and worth the trip out east for a change. The woods there are enormous for LI. Closed from Nov. to April I believe for hunting. Met some nice folks riding here.

Summary:
Jsu started riding this trail this year (2005) first went on it in '04 but didnt really get into it that much.......i take the DH hill first then cut across to the greenbelt all the way across 347 (i think)
gets really technical and its the best trail i found on LI yet

Summary:
there are 2 lakes in the park one is in bill richards park small, and the other is in blydenberg park, big. the trail goes around the big lake, and is about 1 hr. ride. it has roots, sand, and hills ect.

Recommended Route:
go into bill richards park off of 347/454 west/or blydenburg next door

Summary:
I think I said it all above, the trails are multi-use with horses and hikers, (look out for young kids in the summer from the day camp at hidden pond.) The trails aren't too technical but can be alot of fun for beginner to intermediate riders. It also makes a decent training ride for experts. I would give it an extra star and a half for beginners.

Recommended Route:
The trails at hidden pond themselves are pretty week, but there are some decent trails nearby, if you go to the end of the main roads and make a right by the tennis courts and pass through the picnic area, head into the woods and try to find the trail. It can get pretty tight due to overgrown vegetation, but it's not to bad, maybe 4 miles point to point. Also, if you follow the trails that start just past the pools all the way to the top of the hill (decent climb) and then follow further back towards motor parkway, you should cross the street and find the trailhead near the crest of the hill. That will put you at the top of a pretty good grass, sand, and rocks that you can go maybe 45 mph on if you push it, go down the hill, part way down, there are two seperate trailheads with decent trails, if you want to follow the greenbelt trail(the trail i mentioned before) go to the end and make a left onto the road, maybe a quarter mile down the road (i don't wuite remember) and find the trailhead, it should be marked by two wood posts, some more decent, but overgrown in summer trails. All of the riding except the downhill, is singletrack.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Bethpage and everyone says Rocky Point rocks
