Ridden Trail: Once a week

, from Easthampton, MA Summary: Craig Rd. church through Garnsey Rd., accross two more Rds to Garnsey again. Some technical, some twisty, mostly moderate, good XC workout. Recommended Route: The Crescent Trail Association has taken over jurisdiction of an area that has been a biking and dirt biking area since the '50's. Now they are saying no bikes. Screw them! Bikers built the majority of what is there. Go ride, be polite. (I know, they are jerks.)

Ridden Trail: Every few months

, from fairport Summary: this trail is really hard to find but its well worth it. i've been riding it since i was in nineth grade and i'm in college now. its quite challanging in all aspects, the hills that you must climb are extremely hard to get up. trails are quite turny with many switch backs and some random jumps. trail is smooth but there are sections where it does get bumpy, and its alot of loose dirt on the downhill sections which makes high speeds thrilling to say the least (a few extremely steep downhills with turns). the trail is really the cresant trail and therefore you are not technically suppose to ride on it, but nobody ever really walks on it because it is extremely steep and it wouldn't be for the older folk walking their dogs (mainly you'll run into other bikers or maybe the hard-core x-country type poeple). over all there is approximately 12 miles of trail if you start from turk hill and end up going to bussels basin ( i recomend starting from turk hill cuz the other way is hell to get up the hills). don't plan on going on this trail unless you are in good shape because there aren't many places to get off and you start and end in totally different areas, meaning you have to bike back along roads or go another 12 miles through the woods. in short this is a some what techinical, really high speeds, crazy up hills and down, some cool views, and a few surprises such as random stair cases that turn and go down hills (fun to bomb down especially when your friends don't know its coming :-) ) type of ride. one word of warning though, the trail is broken up when crossing roads and things so it can be difficult finding where trails begin. i suggest getting a map from the cresant trail web page so you won't miss any sections of this wild trail. this trail is fun for the moderate rider looking to do some challanging things, and break into some more extreme bike riding later. Recommended Route: coming off of 490 east or west, turn onto 31 and go east towards pal-mac area, turn right onto turk hill rd., go for like a mile and its on your right. (unfortuately there is no parking lot so its exremely hard to find so keep your eyes out for a orange trail sign post) Other recommended trails in the same area: indian hill. good to take people just learning to ride, some good up and downs, along with some wooded sections, go to crestant trail site to get map and location.

Elitist upper crust property owners wish to walk their Pomeranians without the annoyance of mountain bikers. Thanks for nothing!!!! Recommended Route: This trail has been unfortunately closed for at least 5 years. Other recommended trails in the same area: Tryon Park!
