90 % single track make up this east coast gem, located on Suffolk County parklands. the trails are beautifully maintained, and groomed by C.L.I.M.B.(concerned long island mountain bikers) the trail is clearly marked, and straightforward. the path is one way. with several climbs, and awesome TIGH twist, and turns. beautifully shaded trails, with some benches along the way for a well deserved rest. not too challenging for climbers, but nonetheless, a great ride>

Summary:
I love this trail. 6 miles of tight twisty single track for beginners- intermediate, has some tight squeezes, logs, and hills. I am a beginner to MTBing and I honestly did not find this too challenging, but I did not do any diamonds. I will when I go monday. Very well maintained and well marked, impossible to get lost. I am going to be suing this to get some basic single track/MTB skills, as I think it'll be great practice.

Summary:
I went to Cat-Pines for the 1st time less then a week ago from time of post. I LOVED it. It has a bit of everything for riders; climbs, downhill, single track, switchbacks etc. The diamonds are a must do for most riders. I really enjoyed this trail and it will become a regular stop. Milage of the main loop is short but add the diamonds and you get about 9 miles of good riding. It a GREAT Long Island trail! It could use a little more length though.

Recommended Route:
Include the diamond routes!

Summary:
This trail is a lot of fun. I'm fairly new to riding. I've been to a few other places and still enjoy the quick, energetic and beautiful trails at Cathedral Pines. I'm also not sure why so many have bashed this trail. I was first told by experienced riders about this place. Good, fun downhills with short bursts of uphill climbing.
What I like most is that I'm in and out in about 1 hour. Work up a nice sweat, then we're home in 15 minutes. Rocky Point is maybe 10 minutes away but more of a commitment timewise. Rocky Pt. is a very scenic route .

Recommended Route:
Do all the black diamonds to really extend the ride time. I've never been able to make it up "kitty litter hill", but the fun is in the challenge

Summary:
this trail is perfect for the... person who just bought their mountain bike or someone who wants to take their young children for their first trail ride. as for an agressave trail rider you can pass this one up . the only good part about this trial is that it is very clean. if you are looking to raise your pulse by all means pass this one up and ride over to rocky point. other than that i was bored.

Recommended Route:
pass this one up and take the short trip to rocky point.
