Cross Country Rider Summary: Update on Previous Post: Trail Markers on Stid have improved, Look for the bright orange Moose signs. Still a challenge until you really figure the area out. Recommended Route: Shuttle: Dugway Rd at top of hill, look for truck trail entrance ( South Side of Rd)that has very minimal plastic blazes for NYS foot path. Try to ride / Push you bike up @ 1000 feet elevation/ 1/2 mile hike on this rocky/washout/gulch. You'll reach two gates in the same area- one directly across the trail, another up a short rise to the right ( go towards this one)
Trails stays along the summit for a little while then:
From here it is generally 2000 feet down, and in a westerly direction. You'll come out at the most Northerly parking area on Route 64. Folow the path, it is getting fairly well worn in now. It is a combination of yellow foot path blazes and orang Moose signs. Big white W with "wrong" underneath are probably other trails, but I haven't figured this out yet.

Cross Country Rider Summary: very easy to get lost. the ridge line trail marked in orange ribbon and paint runs from Dugway to Stid Hill Rd, which is a satisfying difficult cross country run. I lost the blue/black markers for the other trail.
I shuttled to the top and had ALOT of trouble finding my way down. Some down trails are truck/atv... and during the summer they end about half way down in dense thickets. This meams you climb 1500 feet up, pushing your bike to get back to the trail. Recommended Route: difficult to recommend at this point Other recommended trails in the same area: Dryer Rd
Boughton
Letchworth

Cross Country Rider Summary: very nice singletrack... similar to Hi Tor, but longer and smoother. Yes there are trails that lead to nowhere (for some reason) but if you stay on the right trail, it is very rewarding. This is a one way trail, so either shuttle or go up and down. Recommended Route: to shuttle: trailhead on Rt.64 (bottom) and trailhead on Dugway Rd. (top). I started at the top and climbed back up... not too bad of a climb considering it was getting dark and i was hearing gunshots... REMEMBER: this is public use area, meaning people with weapons...make lots of noise!! Other recommended trails in the same area: Hi Tor, Camp Cutler... within a few minutes drive

Racer Summary: This trail is sooooooo stupid. DON'T RIDE. I rode the trail for a while and suddenly about a mile up the mountain the trail just disappeared. I spent an hour walking around trying to find the trail. But other than that it would be a cool trail. The descent is pretty fun. As long as you can find the trail I would recommend this "mother of a climb" Recommended Route: Cant remember! Other recommended trails in the same area: Hi Tor, Ontario County Park

Weekend Warrior Summary: This trail rocks. It is pure uphill all the way to the top, then nice flat singletrack along the top. Tons of small fallen trees to work on that bunny hop. Make sure you have good brakes for the way back down. Your rims will be so hot you could fry an egg! Recommended Route: Pretend you are going skiing at Bristol.
