Downhiller Summary: The trails are nice and fairly even. Further up it gets a little knarly but nothing people can't handle. One has to remember that these are in fact cross country ski trails, so don't expect to run across any 10 foot cliffs. Its really great for an endurance ride and every summer, they do have a 24 hour bike race which is run by Brian, the owner of High Peaks Cyclery. If you can find it, there is an awesome obstacle course further up on the mountain. Other recommended trails in the same area: If xc isn't really your thing, I highly recomend you go check out Whiteface Mountain...it's worth the lift ticket.

Weekend Warrior Summary: This trail system is a great trail for beginners. It has mini ramps to hop off of, but other than those offers almost no technical difficulty. A great trail to cruise for a workout. Recommended Route: Try to find the red trails for sure. Other recommended trails in the same area: Whiteface Mtn.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I only rode the yellow marked trail, and it was non-technical. There are supposed to be some technical trails further up the hill. Overall a pretty relaxing ride through the woods on some single track and some fire roads, leading to various olympic event courses. There were a couple of sand traps along the way, but nothing major. If you bring your own bike and helmet, it's only $6.00 a person. Other recommended trails in the same area: The Jack Rabbit trail, which can be picked up behind the howard johnson restaurant in Lake Placid.

Weekend Warrior
, from Mass. Summary: Just because you're on a mountain bike, it doesn't mean you are mountain biking. They just don't get it here. All they did was open their 15 foot wide XC ski trails to bikes. Might be fun on a motorcycle. Recommended Route: Drive right on by! Other recommended trails in the same area: If you're up there and need to ride then Whiteface is your best bet, but they really don't get it either.
