Cross Country Rider Summary: This park has everything if you know were to look. I have been riding this park for about 10 years and find that trails that are old friends can still shake you up. Coming in from 17M almost any trail on the right side is pleasently fast not too technical and for the most fairly easy. Good trails to forget life on. Trails on the left climb up Hence my faverite trail the never ending hill which ends by the power lines but if you look close there are other trails branching off of this one. Backtrcking to the left will end at a horse farm's fence which leads to a very nice technical down hill. Recommended Route: By far the best trail is known by 2 names The Ridge or Look out both well named. Coming from 17 M the path starts right after the roughest section of the carriage trail. Make a right at the large fallen tree and continue climbling. Please look out as you ride since the trail changes all the time. The view at the top is a great place to think and look out from the ridge on the rest of the park. Coming down towards 17 M the trail switches back and forth along the fall line and is very steep. Please watch the white and blue blaze so not to get lost. Make a right turn on 17M returning to the parking lot but now ride up the carriage road to near the top of the hill and make a left onto a little known single track that leads to the Silo trail because you ride by an old silo. Come down the stairs and turn left and left again over 3 branches laying across the trail will lead you back up to the power lines and down the Never Ending Hill Trail. A well rounded 2-2.5 hour trip around the outer edges of the park. Other recommended trails in the same area: This park is my best ride. Just take the time to get lost and unlost until you know the place.

, from Goshen, NY Summary: I must say that being a good mountain biker takes a certain personality and passion. From what I have read of some other comments posted (AS), some people lack the most important traits of being a mountain biker. I've been riding Goose Pond for the last ten years and eventhough I've ridden many other more technical trails, I still come back to Goose Pond. It offers a different experience every time I return. So if you don't like it, don't come back. Your just getting in my way when I'm on the trails. Goose Pond is excellent for the beginner or mid-level mountain biker, and good excersize for those avid cyclists out there. Just watch out for the occasional horse or two on the single tracks. Recommended Route: Pick a trail, go with it and enjoy it.

, from Chester, N.Y. Summary: I've been riding here for about 9 years now & the only time I get tired of Goosepond is in the mid summer when the bugs get nasty.I live right down the road so I'll ride here three or four times a week. Believe it or not I still look forward to comming. Except for the ridge trail most of the better rides are on the right side going up to the power lines. There are some fairly steep {in spots} climbs & some technical spots also. I've found that if I keep changing my rides it stays fairly interesting. I consider myself pretty fortunate to have such a beautiful place so close to home Recommended Route: Probably the most rewarding ride is the ride to the top of the rige. I usually do this two to three times a week. The view from the lookout on top never gets tired. The trail changes from ride to ride lately because there has been quite a bit of dirt bike traffic on this trail. This just adds to the flavor Other recommended trails in the same area: Wawayanda has some nice trails & never crowded.

, from Chester, NY Summary: To all you guys who think that Goosepond sucks, you obviously havent ridden enough on these trails to know where the good ones are. For a good ride, find the powerlines, and take them up the hill all the way till you reach the fence of a horse farm and cut in left about 15 ft. before the fence. Try cleaning this trail, its good fun.
Recommended Route: all the trails to the left of the main trail if you parked at Rt. 17m. Its a lot more technical than u may think. Other recommended trails in the same area: Blue MTN-DHers will like it-local DH pros and experts cut trails there, MTA, Waywayanda
