Ridden Trail: Once a week

, from Rhinebeck, New York Summary: Surprisingly easy to get lost and deceptively large. I am usually very good at keeping my bearings, but on two of my first three rides I managed to exit the forest on a different road than I expected. This probably says a lot about how focussed I was on my riding. The trails were also surprisingly challenging. Overall, a refreshing surprise for a place of its size and accessibility. Some trails suitable for newcomers to the sport, but plenty of terrain to keep intermediate to advanced riders interested. Recommended Route: Trails to the north of the fire tower. Other recommended trails in the same area: The west side of Bard College campus. Long fire trails and wide single track that emerge into Tivoli Bays State Recreation Area.
