Summary:
Sir charles of Dork your needless rambling maketh no senseth. You are no more English than an English Muffin. You have done a great injustice to a trail that has an exponential amount of promise. All it needs is more riders to come carve it out. The Cathedral Pines were once too, a barren poop land. Your rhetoric carries no weight nor does your phony British hodge podge.

Summary:
a guy walking his dog told me it was five and a half miles around the lake.(that doesn't count all of the BIKE trails-only horse trails)so going by all of the bike trails,i'd say about seven, eight miles around the lake.yesterday my friend and i cut some of the turns a little wider, moved some logs(and tried to cut a big tree out of the trail-but the tree won)and added a few more obstacles with a beginner path around for those who don't have medical insurance.there is some sand,o.k.,a lot of sand, but only on the horse trails.keep your eyes open for bike trail openings on the side if you're on the sandy horse trails.also, some mud and water in one part.water is available by the rowboats(which are about halfway through the trail,if you are not going all the way around)

Recommended Route:
we usually start from the little bridge access on brooksite(near cygnet drive)go uphill over the bridge on the horse trail.there will be an opening on the right side to a thinner trail.take it.for the first half of the trail is off to the right side of the horse trails.when you get to the rowboats-you can either go straight(around the pond)or left, through the parking lot, past a little playground and through more trails.follow these trails to get to street access or back to the little bridge access.(if you are going all the way around the pond-some of the trail goes out of the woods, near the fourth precinct, keep going and it goes back into the woods and into blydenburgh, where it is mostly horse trails back the the front of the park.

Summary:
Miles and miles of sand. So much in fact one would conclude that it had been trucked in. The side trails are eroded, overgrown with foliage and are somewhat dangerous. I recommend going elsewhere.

Recommended Route:
Cathedral Pines

Summary:
This park rules. Yes there are Horses and Sand and dogs without leashes and lately the paint ball crowd might take a shot at you. So if you are going to have fun you are going to have to be creative.

Recommended Route:
Warm up in the parking lot on the 2 ft. drops and bumps. At the row Boats go right or left at the lake. Find all the single track and bounce over all the roots and trees that have fallen everywhere. There are about 14 miles of trails if you take every right or left you see. If you look hard and let some trees hit you in the face you can find some nice Long Island hills. There are even two spots that are scary downhill but not very long just technical. Also there are 2 ft. drops and a few three and fours and one 5 footer. At one spot a wash out made a 3 and a half foot huck to a transition that ends up being an 8 to 12 ft. flight if you go fast enough. Any way if you dont mind finding your way this place has a few gems and will keep you intrested for two hours or so. If you live in the area do yourself a favor and check it out. Especially in the colder months when no one else is around.Do not travel far to come to this park. Go up state if you want to drive before you ride.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The usual cast of suspects...
Rocky Point, Stillwell, Bethpage.
You know all the ONE WAY FLATENED out dirt that everyone on LI loves to ride. I like these trails to keep in shape but to have fun go to Plattekill...PEACE OUT.

Summary:
In the year of our Lord, the moors cometh in by foot to our lofty estate. Alongeth the sodden trail, full of mud and vermon they stride. Tis but flatland and no Godly challenges awaited them. Their encounters of rebel neighbors were minimal because the Royal army shook the pride of every land.

Edinbraugh
