Ridden Trail: Every few months
| |
Reviewed by: Evan
, from Monsey, NY USA Summary: Not very impressive. The first time I rode there last year the trail was okay. This summer the trail is a mess. The mountain uses the trail as a runoff and floods the trail to the point where after it rains it is like riding in a river. Not worth the trip from anywhere, the riding is just making the trail worse. Go to Ramapo or Ringwood and let Bear Mountain heal. Recommended Route: There is only two ways to go either enter near the guard booth or at the back parking lot.

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once
| |
Reviewed by: ralph
, from cortlandt manor ny usa Summary: This is a great intermediate trail with some logs and a moderate amount of stones. There is a good amount of hills. There are many trails that cross this one including the appalacian trail (not for bikes, beware the rangers) so a map is good. This would be good for a light day of biking, some of the only trails allocated for bikes near bear mtn. Recommended Route: there is only one path at this antiquated recreation area. trail maps can be gotten at the bear mtn. parks office. Other recommended trails in the same area: mt beacon
