Cross Country Rider Other recommended trails in the same area: East Fork Trail: Another great trail: drive up road (578) from Red River to the Upper Valley. The pavement dead ends about 8 miles up. Park where the road pavement ends and ride the 4WD road up to East Fork trail (56). East Fork is a beautiful trail. You can go all the way to Lost Lake (also a nice lake) and ride down the Lost Lake Trail (91). This is a blast downhill. You’ll end up making a loop back to your vehicle. Overall, you’ll ride about 11 miles but be prepared for a good ½ day and spend some time at the lake. One caveat, there is a section of about a mile that is in Wilderness Area (bikes are banned). I might be wrong but I think the ruling says you can’t use mechanical transport. So, walk your bike on this section.
