Cross Country Rider Summary: Not technically Goza Gulch, but this was recommended to me by the LBS... I rode from the top of the lift, past the miners cabin, all the way to Goose Lake (a bad idea on a Sat. afternoon unless you like sharing the trail with 50+ fat @sses on atvs.) A long and consistantly steep road climb all the way. From the top I connected with the Goose Creek trail. At the top, the trail is semi-hard to follow and get's lost in a few spots. Plenty of downed trees to be had in the upper two or three miles. If this trail was ridden more and better maintained, it would be awesome. Rode it all the way back to the highway and then a few miles to town (mostly downhill). Other recommended trails in the same area: East Fork Red River (fast and fun in&out trail to the wilderness boundary and back)

, from Heath, TX Summary: Very difficult trail for flatlander from TX. The goose lake road trail is extremely steep with so many loose rocks that climbing is extremely slippery. The downhill was also an expert ride. Several creek crossings requiring you to carry bike over water and times when trail becomes confused with other animal paths. For an expert rider - this is a challenging trail. 6-mile uphill followed by challenging 7 mile downhill. Not for the beginner or intermediate rider. Other recommended trails in the same area: Try the old pass road followed by ride through 4th of July Canyon and down road by Fire Station. The climb is reasonable and the decent was also doable for intermediate rider.
