Cross Country Rider Summary: Forest road, in tree cover with excellent views of Taos Canyon. There are a few fallen trees, but this is continuous for the most part. Recommended Route: The trail can be used to link a host of options, or as an out-and-back with a fun SBT loop on the end.
You could climb the Momdragon, and when you come to the intersection a few miles, take a left turn, and climb to an eastern section of the South Boundary Trail (SBT) right near Don Fernando Peak. Hook up on the SBT for a single track descent to the Mondragon Intersection a few miles down, then take a gentle 8-mile descent back to US 64. Or you could also continue onto the end of SBT and ride back US 64 to your car.
We also use this trail to connect the South Boundary Trail (SBT) to the North Boundary Trail (NBT) and call it the Dounble Boundary Trail (DBT) Other recommended trails in the same area: SBT, NBT, Elliot Barker Trail (EBT), Cerro Vista, Devisadero, Ojitos, Amole Canyon, Angle Fire,....too many to name!
