Ojitos Trail

Nothing but whoop-de-dos. Climbing it isn't really all that fun, but coming down it is a blast. You can do a sissy ride over it or you can get some serious air. I would recommend picking this trail up for the conclusion of the South Boundary Trail. It is a really fun way to end this ride - but adds on another 6 miles of trail/fire road.

Trail Directions
Located on US 64 just before you hit the canyon on the way to Angel Fire. Look for the Big Blue bolted steel water tower and park on 65 when you see a road to it. Start ride here and take any path that heads toward the mountains in a southeasterly direction. Be careful though, there are some trails that will take you back to 64, as this whole area near the water tower is a little sketcy. as you head SE you will eventually find the Ojitos trail. You will know it by the 6-ft high burns called whoop-de-doos.

Summary:
Whoop-de-do central. Expect a lot of jumps - so many that you might get sick of them. Connects to South Boundary Trail, but upper portion is mainly fire road that just goes on for what seems like forever.

Botttom is really fun though, and should be tried by anyone who whats to ride in Taos.

Recommended Route:
Pick it up when finishing the SBT, or do an out and back.
