This trail is excellent!! 4000 feet of down hill on rugged single track, rocky and technical in a lot of places. An excellent ride. Plus you get to ride down the steep meadow to the trail head.

Trail Directions
This trail like the Agua Piedra is best ridden from the top of Caballo Mountain. Come from camp may via guaje canyon or ride up Quemazon from town to the Guaje canyon trail. The trail starts at the bottom of the large summit meadow. Skirt the tree line from east to west till you find it if you have trouble.

Summary:
As far as I know, large parts (or all) of this trail was destroyed in the Cerro Grande fire. Most parts of Guaje Canyon trail, to date, are still in shambles so what is left of this trail would be hard to find.

Summary:
Fun trail, as B said. Not ridden very often, as far as I know. Popular with equestrians and hikers. Awesome views.

Recommended Route:
Brando - drop me a line sometime and I'll help you saw some trees. We should do the Guaje Canyon trail too. If you've got a chainsaw, I'll help you drag it back there. Unfortunately, I won't be back in Los Alamos until next spring. Probably the best time to do it anyway, though, eh?

Summary:
I used to ride this trail a lot back in the mid 80's with no suspension of course and it was a blast!!!! I could rip down it with out hardly any fallen trees at all. I rode it a month ago and it was terrible. I couldn't stay clipped in for more than five minutes before I had to stop and hop a tree. I was so frustrated, it used to be so nice. Time to fire up the chain saw again I guess.. If you want to help let me know. I read these often

same as description
