Cross Country Rider Summary: This isn't a trail! It's a wide open dirt road! There is so much motor traffic, on is so called trail, it should classified as a highway. It looks like an apoccalyptic waste land with garbage and broken beer bottles everywhere, and any land the atvs haven't torn up, the oil companies have dug up the rest with the hundreds of roads and wells. And there is the constant engine buzz of the gas pumps and the sputtering of the oil wells.
I haven't mentioned the drunk hillbillies yet, when they aren't driving drunk they are parked in the the middle of trail shooting thier empty bottles.
I would give this trail a zero if I could. Recommended Route: Save yourself the disappointment and don't ride it. Other recommended trails in the same area: New Mexico is for fat drunks on atvs. Head north any trail in Colorado is better then this. Moab isn't that far from here either.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I have the pleasure of living just 2 miles from the trail head of what we call "Kinsey's Ridge." This is one of my favorite rides and I do it at least once a week when I'm in town. The trail is very well maintained and well travelled so the single track is pretty hard packed, making for some great high speed sections. It's very rideable for even beginners, but a more advanced rider can still have a blast. Not the most technical of trails in the area, but for me, the fun factor is the big draw. If you like to stop and smell the roses (or take in some great scenery) be sure to take along a little digital or single use camera. If you're new to the area, be sure to make your first stop at Cottonwood Cycles on Main St. Those are some good folks who know their stuff and love to get people hooked on their local trails. Recommended Route: Multiple loops to chose from. Get the map and explore. Other recommended trails in the same area: Alien Run in Hart Canyon on highway 550 just North of Aztec.

Downhiller Summary: This beginning of this trail is great for beginners (like myself) but can deffinitely possess its challenges as well. With some great downhills in the first couple miles, it's easy to keep your momentum through the woops. Trail is in good shape most months of the year (if you don't mind some sand here and there). Other recommended trails in the same area: At the end of Foothills drive there is a great trail that takes you up onto a ridge overlooking valleys on either side. This is not a difficult trail; winding woops with few substantial climbs. But the scenery is the main draw for this trail. Great for a leisurely ride.

Cross Country Rider Summary: I thought this trail was a blast. 30 plus miles of whoop-de-doos and crusier singletrack. If you're looking for a technical challenge do not ride this trail with that mindset. This is a fast, fun, tempo style course - not a freeride rock garden.
The climbing is in the form of short, abrupt climbs with equally abrupt descents. The trail is anywhere from sandy to hardpack to a rockier mix on the backside. It can be ridden agressively even by the first timer. I can see why this course is such a popular one to race on.
I give it 5 flamin' chilis for the fun factor. Recommended Route: the standard marked course... Other recommended trails in the same area: Pinon Mesa (be wary of deep sand!)

Cross Country Rider Summary: Daniel my friend, get a clue...Moab is Mecca. As for the Road Apple, not much challenge and way too ripped up by Motocrossers. I almost got killed by one dude. I wasn't impressed and would definitely recommend the Alien Run over the Road Apple. Just say no until they do something about the Moto guys....way too dangerous.
In the meantime, I'll just stick around Albq. and ride Otero or Cedro....the trip to Farmington for that ain't worth it. Other recommended trails in the same area: Otero, Tunnel Canyon and Cedro Peak in Albuquerque area.
