Ridden Trail: Once a week

Reviewed by: glen
, from santa fe Summary: Tony at Bike n' Sport indeed got a lot of trails cut out in this part of town, and more are on the way... We've been working with the Tano Road Assc. to keep the area to the North of 599 clean, as best we can with volunteer help. The city has just preliminarily approved some funding for a parking lot and for some barriers to keep the bubbas from driving there trucks of garbage & shotguns into the place... The trails saved this past biking season as the forest was closed, and will get better with time! Recommended Route: Start behind the Santa Fe Spa, up the hill to the north and along ridge 'till you get to the end, go down embankment to road (Ridgetop Road) head north for about 1/2 mile, across 599. Take a left Up the embankment, head in @ dirt road to singletrack.... get map from bike n' sport on Cerrillos for decent detail...

, from Santa Fe Summary: There is a new course! The guys at Bike-N-Sport have cut loads of new single track and routed it away from the broken bottles and bonfire debris. To get there follow Highway 285 north from Santa Fe to the traffic light at Camino La Tierra (599 bypass) turn west (the only way possible) about 2 1/2 miles to Camino de los Montoyas. Turn right or north about 1 mile to the microwave tower. Park here and follow the new single track west, there maybe orange tape too. Recommended Route: Important: New trail

, from Fanta Se Summary: Enjoy this trail while you can; the developers and the ultra-rich that live on it's fringes are closing it down. 1999 will be the last time the race is held here. Other recommended trails in the same area: Borrego-Bear Wallow

, from Santa Fe Summary: Well if you enjoy sand, broken beer bottles, and used condoms this is the dream trail for you. You start the ride at a spray painted dumpster and work your way up a steep hill where you can view teenagers smoking low-grade. Then the trail takes an exciting twist through some road construction and piles of trash. The fun part is on the way! Sand and more sand.... The best time to ride this trail is in the middle of a hot summer day, just to get the overall experience of how horrible this ride is. Sorry... I know some of you guys like this ride but this is my review.
