White Castle Trails

Average Rating:    (4 of 5)

This is a dirt jumpers dream come true. All dirt jumps. Most are very large and extremely difficult. But, boy is this place the bomb! Most of the local pros hang there. ie: Lars Tribus, Aron Chasse etc.

Summary:
Just got home from work, strapped the bike to the back of my Jeep, drove the 5 minute drive to the back of White Castle and WHAMMO....no more bumps/trails/anything. Anything exept...A BULLDOZER!!! One less place to ride that wasn't over an hour away. SOB's are clearing the lot for another retail store/TGI Friday's or whatever else Bergen County needs no more of. Was fun while it lasted, I guess. Even though I've only ridden once, I am officially in mourning. Sorry folks..White Castle trails are no more!!!

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Nothing with jumps that was this close to home.

Summary:
Years ago, like ten - twelve years ago, my friends and I put down our skateboards in favor of BMX. We used to ride these trails every day on BMX for close to three years.

Whenever it would rain we would head over there with shovels so we could build new jumps (and make the existing ones sicker). Towards the end we had it all decorated with banners and everything.

Back then it really was a sick BMX track -- couldn't imagine riding a moutain bike on it the way I remember it. I'm sure a lot of the stuff changed.

Agreed that the big attraction here is the jumps -- there was nothing in the area that even compared. The jumps more than made up for the lack of a trail.

After a year or so of riding the track (BMX), we were all getting some really sick air and nailing really rad tricks off some of the bigger jumps.

Knowing that this track is still there, next time I visit my family in the area I'm bringing my moutain bike to try out the jumps again.

If you're into dirt jumping at all -- this is the track for you.

Recommended Route:
Take Rt. 17 until you see a White Caste. Go in the back by the dumpster and you should be able to see the track. Right by it is a Wendy's, a TGI Friday's, and this place called Fiesta which is this huge banquet hall.
