Summary:
I've lived near the park my whole life, and have spent most of my childhood in those woods, so I know them like the back of my hand (even made some of those trails). Small, and technical workout. Not for the mainstream. The only way you'll have fun is if you know the trails, the only way you'll know the trails is to ride them alot, and thats when you'll get busted (and you will get snagged, gauranteed) and ruin it for the very few who ride it on the sly. The park administration is not reasonable or friendly. I'm not trying to be an a-hole, but they are hardcore about keeping bikes out. If you're coming all the way up here, go to Ringwood or Way-way-yonder, you'll have more fun.

Recommended Route:
Drive right past it, please!

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Ringwood or Way-way-yonder will give you your technical fix.

Summary:
I am unhappy as anyone about losing places to ride. I have hiked enough up here to know that it could be fun to ride some sections. The Morris County Parks Dept make it really hard on bikes and dogs. But this place is right next to Splitrock where it is legal to ride and very challenging. Why stir up a hornets nest over this area?

Recommended Route:
This is a hiking area-period. You make life easier if you stay out.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Splitrock, Tourne (a little lame), Try road.

Summary:
This park is not for mountain biking, its really for hiking. There are several areas you must actually hike up b/c its too steep or rocky. Across the st. from the Boonton Ave parking lot there is a trail called 100 steps or something like that. If you hike up to the top there is some crazy, crazy downhill stuff. There is also a small waterfall on that side of the park. Most of the park on that side is too steep to have a good ride, but if you're in the area its worth taking a look at.

Recommended Route:
23 to Boonton Ave. OR Taylortown Road to Boonton Ave. and Make a right. Alternatively you can pick up trails behind Lake Valhalla in Montville, but there's no parking there (officially).

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Tourne Park, Lewis Morris, Mahlon Dickenson sp?
