Franklin Trails

Great local trail to practice for harder ones. No one ever goes there. Find the trails via the dirt road, then follow through the woods. Very narrow, single lane trails takes you through streams, up steep hills, and down through a dense patch of trees. You will need to maneuver through very narrow gaps between those trees at high speed, making sharp turns to avoid a collision. Good overall practice trails for the harder routes.

Summary:
Key element! This trail is a feeder to six mile run trails. If you follw this trail to So. Middlebush Rd. The 'back door' to six mile run is dead ahead.

See my six mile run review for that summary.

Recommended Route:
take your time and try each 'branch' as ther are many (contrary to previous posts) I have logged ~8+ miles in this area alone with about 40% double-back.

Summary:
Good in building basic technical skills, this one directly connects to 6-mile run at somerset. This is the nearest point you can google map it is opposite is the soccer field which leads to the trail : Lincoln Hwy corner Hidden Lake Dr
North Brunswick NJ

How to get there:
From NewBrunswick, take Route 1 South to Cozzens Lane(after Walmart andPathmark shopping centers). Make right on Cozzens Lane, around bend andfollow to the end. You will come to a "T" in the road, with a WaWa onthe corner. Make a left here onto Route 27 South. Follow this about 1/2mile until you see Hidden Lake apartments on the left. On the right, you will see a field. Park anywhere you can find a spot, then cross thefield to enter the trails.

Summary:
Great for a beginner trail. This was my first ride on my new bike and I felt really confident the whole time. Their is plenty of fun obstacles and challenging terrain with easy coasters that aren't too demanding. I highly suggest any beginner to check out this trail! The only negative I have is that we did not know where we were going most of the time. The trail has no signs and you pretty much just head "by feel". Otherwise it was a great experience!

Recommended Route:
Still learning the area. I have heard from other locals that the trails lead to the Six Mile Run network along the lines, but I have yet to find them.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Six Mile Run
