Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Weekend Warrior Summary: Pretty much a flat area. It's not really a mountainbiking destination - I've seen more trail runners & hikers when I went there. It is, however, a really great place to introduce your non-outdoorsy friends or family to mtbiking. I went to Thompson Park to ride w/ my 4 yr old son. A lot of the trails we rode on were flat & clean enough that my son was able to ride w/ his training wheels on. Everytime we got to the rough sections, I had to dismount & carry my son's bike. Not really a big deal... As I've said, I'd go there to spend some quality time w/ family or friends. And like the overview above, it would be a good place for a quick ride in between classes if you're studying at Brookdale. I'd say it's also a good "relaxing" ride when you don't want to crank any uphills - pretty much like Manasquan Reservoir. Recommended Route: There's a trail that goes around the lake that's a bit technical w/ lots of roots & off cambers. Pretty fun stuff. Everything else seems flat. Other recommended trails in the same area: Allaire, Harthshorne, Clayton, Manasquan Reservoir
