Cross Country Rider Summary: Well being that this was my first time there, I would have to say that this place is in great shape. Really clean and smooth. Cheers to whoever does maintenance at this place. Parked at the lake and headed directly on to the yellow blaze. Super fast with great uphills and downhills everywhere with plenty of roots to bounce off. First off, I couldn't believe the trail ethics of everyone there. Telling me how many more were after them and letting me take my line since I was on the uphill. I met a couple of good folks that helped me determine that the blazes in my "25 rides in New Jersey" book were completely wrong. Anyways, all in all a great ride. Even though I only got up and around the yellow blaze route back and forth I had fun. Recommended Route: Didn't have enough sun light to finish, but I will be back. You need to at least start at 5:30-6 to complete this one. My book said it was 5 miles long. Sheesh! Other recommended trails in the same area: Aeroflex Airport aka Kittatiny State Park is where I call home. Check it out! Very technical with lots of cardio and plenty of trails. Stokes State Forest is what I call the torture zone. If you can ride there, you can ride anywhere. Allamuchy is pretty good if you just want to tool around without having to bust your butt with difficulty.

Weekend Warrior Summary: This trail near Morristown is very well-marked and maintained. IMO, there are a lot of climbs, albeit none of them are too long, technical, or difficult (especially if you're physically fit). You start off climbing fire roads and towards the end there is some great singletrack to fly down. There's a good degree of roots and rocks, but nothing too crazy. There's also a quick loop across the street on the side of Patriot's Path.
BTW, Marty's Reliable Bike Shop in Morristown is a great LBS (good people). Stop by Marty's to pick up a trail map. Recommended Route: Park by Sunrise Lake and take the Yellow loop starting south toward the softball field (fire road which later turns into singletrack). After you bomb down the hill at the end and get back to the lake, go across the street and do the quick loop if you want. Other recommended trails in the same area: Allamuchy, Round Valley, Mercer County Park, Clayton Park

Weekend Warrior Summary: I have been riding here for some time now, about once a week. Some of the new trails are cool, most are alright, they could be called luke-warm.
The negative side of Lewis Morris:
-There isn't much going on at Lewis Morris as far as logs, roots, rocks, or obstacles (for more experienced riders, bike handling skills seem to suffer here).
-Earlier in the year trail closures were popping up here and there, which could end a loop ride dead (closures have seemed to tail off as of late).
The positive side of Lewis Morris:
-Lewis Morris is a good spot to spin your wheels. Long climbs are a big part of the park.
-You can get up in speed on some downhills, but there is the fact of horses and hikers, so that must be done conservatively.
In conclusion:
If there are any claims of something being technical or tricky here, in my opinion they are incorrect. Your bike handling skills will not be developed if you ride here too often, but you will be able to climb hills after a few trips.
