Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Downhiller Summary: What can I say... this is what you get for someplace that is cheap (free) and not maintained by any organization. It is extremely dangerous since the trail isn't even groomed and going above 5mph is too fast. Might as well walk down the trail cause this is mountain climbing. I ride regularly at Snowshoe Park in Virginia, Diablo Mountain, and Whistler. I thought it might be a good place to get my bike dialed in but it turned out to be a disaster. There are no trail heads and no signs. If you break a leg or ruin your bike, it is hours of walking. I would not recommend this to anyone since it is in the middle of nowhere and in a reservation.

, from Montclair, Nj, USA Summary: I recomend eagle rock to any intermediate mountain bikers. It's good riding fulled with lots of rocky areas, logs, hills, and on the blue trail there is a nice 6 foot high 15 feet long bridge which is fun to ride. Not hard to get lost here, blazes are every couple of feet and roads are all around the reservation. Recommended Route: Blue trail Other recommended trails in the same area: Rifle Camp Park, Mills reservation, south mountain reservation

, from Englishtown (formerly Montclair) Summary: I lived in Montclair in 2001. Discovered these trails before I knew they were closed. Rode them a few times after that. They're not groomed much at all, but the riding still isn't that difficult. There's one section of stairs that can be fun to ride down. I encountered people walking dogs and horseback riders, and nobody ever told me the trails were closed. So it seems like if you respect the rights of other trail users, you can get a quick workout here. I heard from some fellow riders at a local bike shop that rangers sometimes patrol and will fine you, but like I said, I never experienced any negative effects from riding here. Recommended Route: Any .. you can't get lost and if you do you'll pop out on a road soon enough. Other recommended trails in the same area: Not much within riding distance, but Ringwood and Waywayanda are just a 30-40 min car ride away.
