Cattus Island Park

All Flat. Some Paved. Some Sand. Some cedar Chipped.
Good to get to the Beach Areas. NEVER crowded.
From Garden State Parkway, Take the 37E Exit, 37E to Fischer Blvd. Make Left(Meaning, Go around Jug Handle), Follow Fischer Blvd. all the way till you see a Foodtown, Make that NEXT Right. That's Cattus Isl. Blvd.
Make Left into park.
Got it? Good.
Summary: This isn't a bad trail; you just have to appreciate it for what it is. If you're looking for an intense cardio or crazy downhill trail, you'll be disappointed. But if you want to get your feet under you and see some cool wildlife, you'll dig it. I've seen deer (who are very curious about bikers), snakes, red-tailed hawks, etc. The trails are a combination of roots, sand, hard-packed clay, dirt and paved roads, and boardwalks. Fun for what they are, and a great place to take your girlfriend or younger riders. Just a warning: bring bug spray in the summer months.
Recommended Route: Enter behind the church on Fischer Blvd, then hit the blue trail and orange trails for a loop of the whole network (I think those are the colors, at least... I live in VT now and forget if those are right). The last section will bring you to a reedy section of boardwalk that opens up to hard packed dirt/mud.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Allaire, Harnshorne

Summary: Its a nice place if youre into nature as you ride. Not a race or downhill place. More of a relaxed ride to take a chic. The nature center is cool if you like birds of prey and stuff. For this type of riding i giev it a 5. For any kind of fast paced riding i give it a 1. So i balance them out.

Summary: This place is pretty much all flat land. Not to to much goin on here. It is fun to ride the boardwalks which are fast and bend. Just look out for people walking! Theres tons of trails here, most soft sand but you can power through it. I suggest riding this place slow and find trails then you can power through it. Theres tons of unchartered places here to ride that most people wouldn't find. When the boardwalk ends in swamp land and there is still woods, start to walk through it with carrying your bike. You can find some fun things in the woods then. We found a trail with some huge paw prints and the trail led to a beach I have never seen before and the water was green like the carrabian. When does that happen in the Barnegate Bay?? Trust me we found it and it was very odd. Theres also a sick cliff out there but its hard to get to it. Its more by Yellowbank area, if you are fimiliar with it over there. Its a fun place to kill some hours. I grew up by there so we used to BMX there as kids. Now older I go back on my mountain bike for some fun.
Recommended Route: I suggest start at the welcome center, launch the stairs if you want, ride the boardwalks to loosen up, then go out down the dirt roads and go off the trails. Go all the way out to the end and come back past the welcome center and go off trail there again. Also remember the parks pretty big towards the right and left, so you can explore that rather than just going out to the end. Its a fun ride.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Skyview, very small but some hills and jumps, haven't been there in a while though. Also the woods behind INT East are fun, although always ridden them on a dirtbike but there is some stuff to ride there as well for a bike.
