Racer Summary: Hopewell Side of Sourlands.
Terrfic Ride . Excellent work out , logs , boulders , mud/water, twisting single track thru some of the most pristine topograpghy in all of NJ.
Warning to riders - clipless or baskets pedals will "kill" you here...switch to the flat pedals as a quick foot plant is often needed on this trail (low speed , highly tech , and will require full focus of the rider at all times). Recommended Route: From Hopewell Boro - Greenwood North , up the hill , past Featherbed, past Mt. Church , gravel lot on right (Sourland Preserve-Hunterdon Cty Park System).
Main Trail- past "swamp" on left - @ 1/4 mi on Left second single track entrance on left, up hill to large boulder field , over boulders , follow white marks on trees , down hills , over logs , over streams, over boulders etc...Lots to explore can very ride in many directions, incredibly you'll feel miles from civilization the entire ride. Other recommended trails in the same area: Washington Crossing State Park (NJ) - Mercer County Park - Sourland Mountain (Belle Meade/Hillsborough Side)

, from Flemington, NJ Summary: Start by finding the small parking area off Rileyville Road. If you check out this area, do NOT confine your riding to the car-width main access trail--but access the good singletrack by starting there. Ride over the piped stream crossing and pass the open-water swamp on the left, then watch for the fairly-well-defined singletrack going off left and heading up a gradual hill. Follow faint white blazes as this tight single-track weaves an improbable course through boulders and trees with a good measure of rocks and log crossings along the way. NO lungbuster hills. This is all low speed twisting and turning through the trees. All fun--but unskilled or timid riders will find it frustrating. This trail is for intermediate riders; novices better stick to the main access "roadbed". Please keep a low profile and respect this natural area. Bring tubes/patches--there are sharp rocks. Recommended Route: White-blazed Singletrack (Name?) Other recommended trails in the same area: Cushetunk Mountain Preserve, Low singletrack

, from NJ sticks Summary: Well we all know and love sourland mtn preserve but don't always want to beat our selfs to death. Well those who know ride the backside. Crazy great short ride. Not too tech but not borring and when you reach the top. Well it's shangra la for freeriders. Great big boulders every where, just imagine a skate park but for mtn bikers. Super bad. Unfortunatly there is a very small parking lot(about 5-6 cars) so I can't tell you where exactly it is. But if you want to ride there bad enough you'll find it, just don't drive hours or you will be disapointed. Also please watch for hikers on the downhills. Oh and you may want to stick to riding sundays unless you like to wear blaze orange. Because it's hunting season and that includes the park. Recommended Route: only one. so far.
