The Real White Mountains

All right. For those of you who don't know what the white mountains are, or believe they are out in another place of New Hampshire, the true White mountains run near Franconia Notch past Cannon Mountain to about Mount Washington.
There are trails everywhere!! Alot of single track, and alot of trails cut for snowmobiles, but hey, when there is no snow, they are for mnt. bikers. One place to find hundreds of trails are:
Upper and Lower Falls: This place has dozens of trails branching across the backcountry with some nice climbs and downhills. For the most part it is single track, but there is still a little wider areas. Watch out for horse crap though, not alot, and never any horses. You can ride around the falls alittle, or you can get a trail map and work your way to Mount Washington which has trails around its base. There are alot of log crossings, river crossings and if it just rained, mug bog crossings. If you truly want to be away from everything and out in the wilderness, check this out, YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED!! 1 warning, do not bring beginners along.
Summary: These trails are truly great. There is very little wide tracks, mainly to get you to the single tracks, and once on the single tracks, there is no horse dung. I took a map and followed it along and ended up about 12 miles or so, at the base of Mount Washington. There are so many trails to choose from it is overwhelming.
Recommended Route: A road on the left, right before you hit Bretton Woods. You cross past an old railroad station looking building and a rusted railroad bridge. Travel a few miles until you see some cars on the right side, or a place where there is a turn-off. The cars usualy belong to people jumping off the 30 ft. rocks into a river, truly and unbelievable sight. Once parked, cross the bridge and begin your trek. Have fun!!!!!!!!!!
