fire roads, single track old logging roads.lots of roots and a few boulders
Summary: An excellent trail with a nice, short hill climb in the beginning. The hill climb is a pretty easy ride up, last time I did it all on my middle ring. When you reach the mineral trail, start riding the NEMBA trail. The beginning part is mostly flat with lots of roots and technical stuff, and of course, Wimpy Gulch(a technical gully that is really hard to in and out of without falling or having to walk.) Eventually you will reach the downhill section of it, Sherwood Forest. This is a fun, mostly easy downhill that has many smooth parts that you can go fast on, but also a few difficult rock gardens. Once you reach the bottom there are many other trail loops that you can take before leaving.
Recommended Route: Park at the pool in Cedar Creek(You are technically not supposed to park there but I've never had any trouble with that.) Ride down to the entrance where there is a short single-track that leads to a dirt road with a fork. Take the way to the left(with the gate.) Keep going through the four inch deep puddle(you may want to leave an extra pair of socks in the car) and beyond until you reach another road that this road branches into. Turn right as apposed to going straight. Keep going that way until you reach another choice, right or straight. Go right keep going until you reach a dead end where the entrance of the trail is.
Other recommended trails in the same area: The Red Tail Trail, Stick & Stones, Great Glen Trails.

Summary: As noted in the first review below, this description only scratches the amount of trail here. Very few times have I run out of umph in a day before I ran out of new trail to ride. Park at the Mineral Trail (Can be seen on maps from bike shops) and ride the NEMBA trail down. From the bottom, explore left or right on that fire road, using your keenly trained NE Mtb eyes of course, and you will find miles of singletrack, which is some of the best I have ridden. Finding it is half the fun, but your half way there now!
Recommended Route: Mineral Trail (NEMBA Trail) to fire road, then loop off the fire road in any direction pleased.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Black Cap Connector, Sticks n Stones....

Summary: It should be noted that the original description only scratches what is here. I lived in the N. Conway area for 6 years. For the last 3 this trail network was literally in my back yard. These trails offer something for everyone. There are gentle fire rds and killer single track and climbing. Plus since they are in between West side rd and the Swift river, with the Moat mtn range in the middle; it's very had to get lost. You may wander around for a while but there are many rds around. Just ask directions where ever you pop out if you happen to get lost. It should be noted that the actual Moat Mtn trail is not a mtn bike trail. It quickly becomes unridable. It's a challenging hike, forget about riding it. However, the trial head area is a good place to start. Just don't take the left up to S. Moat. This is a great place to ride without the threat of getting lost in the back country. You should still have some idea of where you are doing though. There are a few trails out in the middle of the area that lead to some remote areas. However, these quickly become unrideable. Best bet is if it looks like it's going to be unrideable don't get off and hike for a while just go back to the last junction and try something else. Have a ball exploring, this wonderfull area.
Recommended Route: Start from Echo Lake Park. There are to many starting points to mention. But, I suggest this one because it's on most rd maps.
Other recommended trails in the same area: If you're looking for something more challenging with a more remote experence. See my review of the Peaked mtn Connecter trail-via Cranmore and Blackcap. This killer ride starts just on the other side of the valley. A short 1 mile ride from Echo lake.
