There are several trails off the parking lot, but the best stuff is across the street and through those woods. On this trail, you will cross 2 roads (1 dirt the other paved), after crossing the 2nd climb the steep hill directly across the road(it doesn't even look like a trail). At the top of this hill, there are wood ramps and bridges to cross and jump off. At this point is where the real fun begins. There are numerous obstacles(both natural and man-made). A lot of jumps and even a log crossing through the pond near this trails. Send me an email if you are looking for someone to ride with.
Rt. 111 East from Salem, NH take left at West St.(about 5-7 miles from Rt. 28 intersection). There is a parking lot for the conservation land on the right about .5 - 1 mile down West Road.
Summary: OK folks This trails system has been cleaned and updated By our group. Unknown to others who have posted, there are at least 20 miles of biker designed single track in this trail system. We have been keeping it to ourselves and not posting anything for over ten years. the only reason im posting now is that we have to many trails and not enough riders. Our group has ridden every wendsday all summer and starting next week we will be night rid"n" with at least 10 people, any one is welcome. On your own it is a maze.
Recommended Route: Find the local and you get as much of a ride as you can handle
Other recommended trails in the same area: Exeter, "lost massabesick trails" salem woods Bearbrook Pawtacaway Belnap range out of Gunstock

Summary: These trails are gross. I have not seen so much dog feces in a concentrated area in my life. Filthy.

Summary: Nice set of trails for a long lunch time ride. Wide but technical in places - solid intermidiate territory with some technical and steepness challenges. Trails tend to wind around and loop here and there but you are always bordered by either roads or the lake - trails on the east side of West Rd are also similar - someone has cut various single tracks but I can never find them the second time around!
Recommended Route: four areas of trails all interconnected but separated by roads 1) trails that come off the parking area on West Rd 2) trails across from that branch off a conservation loop also accessible from Boulder Cove Rd. these are bounded by Boulder Cove, West and Hemlock Heights with the pond making up the fourth side 3)trails between Hemlock Hgts and Governers Isle and 4) trails on the other side of Govs Isle/Eagle Rd
You'll always pop out on one of these roads - West can be identified by the yellow stripes! I hear these trails go further north but I have never ridden them that far. Good luck and have fun.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Salem Town Forest, Windham Conservation

Summary: There are a number of routes, for the longest loop take the fork to your right (that doesn't dead end into someone's backyard). Once you cross the dirt road, again bear right. This trail has numerous rocks and roots. A very fun ride when its dry, beats me up when its wet. Can be as difficult as you would like; ladders over 6 foot boulders, a few 4 foot and greater drops (natural and man-made), some steep/tight downhills and a few (as yet by me) unconquerable climbs, once you cross the paved road. Be careful; speed and unfamiliarity can be dangerous. Trails can require a certain degree of technical riding ability, or you can go around it. This trail system consists of 5 or 6 connected loops, resembles a mutant flower. It is not uncommon to ride for 3 hours and see no one else.
Recommended Route: If driving to get here, park at the coservation parking lot off West road. Enter the trails across the road.
Other recommended trails in the same area: There are atleast three distinct groups of trails, all accessable from the conservation area's parking lot

Summary: These trails are all over Hampstead. There are trail heads on 111, 121, West Road, Starwood Drive, Pogomothon, Dalton Street (both in Plaistow). There are several others. The trails over some easy stuff for beginners, but advanced rides as well. There are several small lakes in the area for those hot days. Bring plenty of bug spray, and be prepared to get muddy. None of the trails are particularly long (maybe the longest is 3 miles), but there are enough of them that you can get a good ride without repetition.
Recommended Route: Enter the trails of the road next to Shop Pond. Follow it mostly straight til you hit West Road.
