lots of variety but all very pretty riding. single tracks, double tracks, and all sorts of terrain. Try to find someone who rides there frequently to point out the hidden gems. You will usually find a local on the trail.

Summary:
Your info is wrong... Fox Forest is in Hillsboro, 9 miles west of Henniker on RT202. Go into town and turn right on School St (north). After 2 miles the Fox Forest Headquarters will be on the right. Parking and maps available there. Both the west side of the paved road and the east side provide great riding for all abilities. The ice storm dropped alot of debris on all the trails, we are cleaning them as fast as we are getting to them, feel free to throw wood out of the trail! The Ridge Trail looks tempting, but alot of it is hike-a-bike even in a good year. We pick and choose sections of trail and can come up with several hours of great singletrack/doubletrack. The closer you ride to the HQ the more likley you will encounter walkers and other human speedbumps. We like to hit the less trameled hinterlands of the forest. There is active logging in the forest, so be prepared for machinery, skidder slash, and trail changes.

Recommended Route:
From the Headquarters parking a good intro route might be to take Concord End Rd into the Forest. Pass Gearry Cemetary and climb to the next intersection. Stay straight on Gould Pond Rd to the height of land. descend to Mud Pond Rd, take the right, cruise on Mud Pond Rd observing singletrack options on both sides. The trails on the right hand side return to HQ and tend to be rough with wet spots and rock gardens. The left hand trails are more ridable, especially the Mud Pond Trail, a nice loop with a boardwalk onto a quaking bog with carnivourus plants! If you should survive that loop, turn left on Mud Pond Rd(doubletrack) and continue on to pavement (Whitney Rd) Go right past the Housing Development and onto the dirt road, follow that down the hill across the brook and up the other side to pavement. That is Center Rd (School St in town), go right and return to Fox HQ 1/4 mile up the road. Locals such as myself park at the High School and ride off the back under the highway. You'll have to sniff that out your selves unless you can find us!

Summary:
Alot of variety in these trails. Ranging from easy to difficult, there is a bit of everything here for everyone, got some nice long trails that make for great shuttling to nice singletrack. You can try to fin the black gum swamp.

Recommended Route:
Either way is good if you are looking for alot of the gems go to the other side of the road away from the main parking lot. If you want to challenge you bike handling skills stay on the side that the parking lot is. I know these trails really well and am more than willing to show anyone around. Summary:
have ridden there several times and have not covered all the trails. hopefully someone local will review and provide more detail. but it is worth the trip if you live in the Manch/Merrimack Valley area. All sorts of terrain and difficulty levels. Many of the singletracks are hidden jewels and cut between the main hiking trails. I like the ridge trail (perimeter trial) sections that are ridable (some are not!). The trails in the middle of the North side of the park are fun too, if a little wet. When you finish riding stop at the German (?) bakery on the main street in Henniker and reload the fat calories you just burned off.

Recommended Route:
any route is recommended - its actually FOX State Forest! (I apologize to the locals).
