Pixie
1 reviews
 4 of 5

Pixie is the middle section of a downhill trail system that is made up of about 1.1 miles of trail connected to the sister trail known as "Minx". Pixie is probably rated as a lower intermediate trail and has a few long sightlines that lead into some "tree tunnels" that eventually spill out at "Robber's Roost".

The trail starts at the end of a guard rail near the yellow caution sign that says "Falling Rock". Most riders convene 100 yards west of the trail entry point, at the pull off, located just past the campground that is 4.5 miles up HWY 158 from the intersection with HWY 157.

This trail is part of the original road system that connected Lee and Kyle Canyons (many)years ago. That road bed was abandoned and this trail uses some of the old road grade / right of way that continues on lower into the longest section of the older downhill run.

Speed on this trail can sometime lead to skidding and there are some profiled sections of trail that feel like RUT city. (hint hint - don't skid...). Scenery is pretty good and in the hot days of summer, this trail remains retty cool and shaded in many spots.

The end of the trail connects to the "Robber's Roost" trail so be careful of the hikers who will be using the last 50 yards of the trail. Where the trail meets with the sister trail "Minx" is a spur that will take you to the pavement where you can cross the road to join up with the lower downhill.

Enjoy the ride. There are more trails nearby in development that will be unveiled soon.
