, from Carson City Summary: Start at the parking lot off of Pine Nut Road #2, loop around the ranch on a fire road, drop into the canyon, climb out of the canyon immediately, and follow the most ridden singletrack for about 6 miles (you'll cross two main fire roads). This will bring you to another series of fire roads that lead in all directions. Turn around and you'll be amazed at how much climbing you've done - you hardly have to pedal on the way back - whoop-di-doos, bermed turns, flats - it's the equivalent of a roller coaster for bikes. Recommended Route: The Dixon Descent Trail! Other recommended trails in the same area: Instead of climbing up out of the canyon once you've dropped in, continue along in the canyon - miles and miles of singletrack.

, from Gardnerville, NV Summary: ...climb the hills, up and down, when you get to the top, hold on because its a fast and furious ride down. Banked turns and crankin' mogels will keep you busy for a while. Keep heading west (keep an eye on Jobs peak, this my require some left turns)and eventually you will end up in the "sandbox". you will know it when you see it!Monster hills!!!to get back to car, simply head north up and out of the sandbox. ...It can be packed nice and hard most of the year, so enjoy!!! Recommended Route: Park at Pinion pine parking area, ride east on Pinenut road#2,follow signs for Sierra Spirit Ranch, when you see sign for Lena Lane hit double track going west.... Other recommended trails in the same area: Tahoe Rim Trail (the bench ride)...Yippie!!!

, from Reno Summary: Great water crossing and some exciting single track. This is a converted (or mulit use) motorcyle trail so watch out for motocrossers. There are plenty of trees and some amazing scenery just remember that it gets real hot and don't go if it's muddy. The mud here is like clay and it'll clog up your drivetrain like you wouldn't believe. Recommended Route: I too did the Pine Nut Cracker of the soon to be famous Kooka Cup Series. It starts at spirit of the sky ranch (which is private) and is mostly singletrack. There is an awesome water crossing about 200 yards from the start. I'm not sure what the policy is on riding this trail since it is private land. Other recommended trails in the same area: I've never biked in any other places in the Carson Valley but, I'm sure there is some good stuff here.

, from Minden Summary: Start at Pinyon Pine Tree lot. Go once a day for a month, and you still won't ride the same route or find all of the single track that exists. This is also home of the Pine Nut Cracker Race (Kooka Kup). Go to the Carson Valley Bike Shop in Gardnerville for info. Recommended Route: Any of perhaps 100 miles of singletrack and very small roads that feel like single track.
