Northgate Loop

Starting from the trail head follow the fire roads around the new housing development in a northeast direction. Eventually there will be a short section of singletrack splitting off to the left (north). From there you will follow a counter clockwise loop of mainly singletrack until the last few miles when the trail turns back into dirt roads. There are many intersections along the trail, but just follow the main path (it is pretty obvious in most places).

Trail Directions
From I-80 take Robb Drive exit. Head north until you reach Mae Anne (first stop light). Turn left and proceed west on Mae Anne until the second stop sign. Take a right turn and head north until you see a sign for the Northgate Golf Course between the road on the left and turn left up the road. Continue past the golf course turn off on the left and through the housing development. Park at the end of the road at the dirt (this could change as new construction continually changes the exact trailhead).

Summary:
This Trail system is disappearing rapidly. If you are reading this then get out and ride what's left. Then send a letter to the Reno City Council letting them know that they should really strive to try and keep what's left of the Trail system. Whatever you do, fight for what's left and let Reno City Administrators and Developers know that they need to address the needs of trail users..........The Forest Service is smart enough to be currently doing this on Peavine Mountain !!!

Recommended Route:
Start at the north end of Avenida de Landa or begin above Mogul.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Peavine Mountain (all over including the great descent into Verdi), Hunter Lake Loop, Emmigrant Trail, Mount Rose to Spooner Lake, Steamboat Ditch, etc., etc.

Summary:
Completelty gone. I tried to ride this trail about 3 months ago and when i was coming back down what used to be a great canyon singletrack, the construction workers thought it would be in their best intrest to hose us off with a water truck. well, got the truck number, and a lawsuit is currently pending. I give it 5 tires cause its where I learned how to ride singletrack.

Recommended Route:
there is none.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
keystone, oh wait no, its being destroyed cause of track homes too.
