, from Las Vegas Summary: Sorry guys but this trail is a big bust. Ive been riding all over the west now and ride all the time locally. This trail(if you want to call it that) is not worth the effort. Leave the bike at home at hike it for a nice time but even that wouldt be much fun. Sandy, soft, and not mapped out or designed well. Recommended Route: doesnt matter

Ridden Trail: Every few months

, from Las Vegas Summary: Great workout in a real scenic area. Like some of the other reviewers said, shin guards are good, lots of loose stuff, rocky, sandy and/or gravel uphill. It starts out above 6,000 feet and you need to be in good shape or your fun meter will drop to the low end of the scale real quick. Good summer escape from the heat of the valley. After an hour of the lower sections, we drove on up a few miles on the blacktop (mile or two past Blue Tree campground) and parked on a wide paved intersection area where the road levels off and reconned the area back down the hill and to the north. About 50 yards north and east from where we parked, found a single track running to the north; wild horse/equestrian route -intermediate level. It also runs back down the hill a little ways to the north of the blacktop - probably down to the campground. Never did see any other people. Last rode near the end of May on a week day and we were making the only bike tracks to be found. The hard pack was on the jeep tracks. Going back to try that single track on the upper section to the north and see where it it finally ends up after the big hike a bike grade. Recommended Route: Lots of trails and jeep roads/ take your pick Other recommended trails in the same area: Blue Diamond/Cottonwood (week days; fall, winter, and spring). Bristlecone (week days; summer/don't forget a camera/go up and back on the single track from the ski area).

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

, from San Diego Summary: A friend and I rode this trail in early Dec.(Do not recommend.) It was cold with snow on the ground. We parked at the bottom by the 2 drainage tubes and rode up the hill(what a bitch!) more than the 3 miles suggested from the other review. Once we finally got to the trail, it was hard to find the right path. We thought that it would be a good ride w/out all the snow. No real techie stuff just crusing single track. The ride from Deer Creek Loop wasn't worth the effort. Recommended Route: Same as the others. Other recommended trails in the same area: Boulder city Mountian Bike Park. Easier to find. More technical riding. More trail choices. More fun.

Ridden Trail: Once a month

, from Vegas Summary: This trail satisfies the need for some high altitude riding on something other than the Bristlecone highway. Muchos Garcias to the trail builders - you have enlightenment in your craft. The routefinding and riding skills you will need to enjoy this trial are not all that complicated. The high points are that you can ride a trail that has three distinct assets - 1. Solitude 2. Scenery and 3. This is a trail that can still make you feel like singletrack is supposed to: tight lines, occasionally primative paths that require a skill or two and above all, a trail width under 3'. If you found the terrain to be too loose, you might want to let out some of the "hot air" in your tires that the Henderson riders desperately need for trails like Boulder City. Now.. if the tables were turned and if the trails could rate the riders, I think you would find most people are riding above their ability and tend to get overly critical of a trail once they see new trail textures, topography and the close quarters of narrow singletrack. Leave the branches in place and adjust your riding style - that way, by the end of the ride, you will have tuned up your skills. No offense to the last single tire reviewer, but your rating may reflect on your riding experience that day, not the trail. Recommended Route: 7-11 west branch Other recommended trails in the same area: Bring on more trails like this one.

, from Henderson, NV Summary: The scenery and summer temperature on this trail are great. I went in the end of May when it was close to 100 in Las Vegas but it felt cool on the mountain. Lots of flowers blossoming, wild horses, lizards, and I even saw a cow elk. Those are the high points. The trail itself wasn't much fun. 75% of it is VERY loose, like riding in soft sand or real loose gravel. This really sucks on the climbs. The brush along the trail cuts up your legs and arms, and much of the trail is hard to follow. I rode the trail in 2:45 and I'm not in great shape. Some of the downhills are not for beginners, and many of the climbs are so loose a lot of people probably can't ride them. This would probably be a fun ride shortly after a rain, so maybe next fall I'll try it again. Until then, no thanks. Recommended Route: Follow the route that Greg Thomas did. Other recommended trails in the same area: For fun, fast riding go to Blue Diamond/Cottonwood. For technical trails and crazy downhill, go to Boulder City.
