Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area

Trails are mountain-like in terrian; very rocky and hilly going through canyons and over large bluffs. Trails are very well maintained and fairly easy, yet very fun. Very cool place!

Summary:
It is a fun, but short trail. Too bad it is not longer, it would be great!

Recommended Route:
Start by the radio tower, ride down the road and to the trailhead. The trail forks, left goes up to the visitor center, right is more challenging and goes down to the road. Both loop back around on gravel roads.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The best trails in the area are found at Buffalo Creek, which is about 10 miles east of Wildcat. Also, Cedar Canyon is a nice ride (about 10 miles west).

Summary:
Awesome scenery here! This place is pretty unknown but should be considered in the Nebraska top ten. Makes a good stop if you are going through Nebraska on the Interstate- about 30 miles noth of I-80. Looks like something out of New Mexico. Good stuff.......

Recommended Route:
There are more trails than meets the eye. Go exploring! You can get a map at the office.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The Black Hills, Wyoming, Pine Ridge in NW Nebraska. If you like the trail, make sure that you tell the staff and encourage them to make more trails- if it was a priority it could be the best in the state.
