Fort Robinson State Park

Hilly area that is largely without trees due to forest fire in late 80s. Trails range from dirt to rock and can be vert steep at points. Very scenic area surrounded by huge cliffs in and around the Nebraska national forest.

Reviewed by: The Dude , from Nebraska

Summary:
Nice place, stay away from the 'dude ranch' base camp. If you start at the top, you can desend for about 15-20 minutes. Totally blows going back up however. More or less a small 'mountain' ride. Check it out, you will be pleased.

Recommended Route:
I don't know. Go to the top of the sunrise road or whatever.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Pine Ridge area, Chadron State Park, Wildcat Hills, Black Hills (SD), Cowboy trail-take this all the way back to Norfolk if you have a lot of free time.........321 miles.

Summary:
Good single track. Technical sections they may have you hiking the bike. Rocky in places. Very hilly area, thats why you will see big horn sheep keeping a close eye on you. Don't go head to head with one, you will lose.
I rode this one 4-5 years ago when I was out at fort Robinson. Know the limits of you skill and your bike. Tore a pair of pearlizumi microsensor shorts there, GRRRR!

Recommended Route:
Forgot how to gwt there go north from Scottsbluff till you see a sign. Near chadron.
