Cross Country Rider Summary: Sypes Canyon trail is (as others have mentioned) 'something for everybody'. It's truly the most diverse trail I've yet to ride in the Gallatin Valley. The first 1/3-1/2 mile on the way up is truly brutal. After that there is a mix of rolling single track, rocky technical, creek crossings, roots....all the types of riding you'll find in the valley....on one trail....and it's only about 2 miles to the top of the 'T' (you'll know it when you get there). It's a fun, but definitely challenging trail. Recommended Route: Head North on Springhill Rd, take a right on Sypes Canyon Rd, follow it to the end. Pretty simple to find. Other recommended trails in the same area: Truman Gulch

Weekend Warrior Summary: One of the best trails in the area. This trail has just about everything on it you could possibly ask for; smooth, windy singletrack with rocky technical sections as well. However, I would not recommend going on it when it is very wet out(maybe I just suck, but it scared the crap out of me when I tried it!). Recommended Route: Up as far as you can, then back down as fast as you can!(watch for hikers) Other recommended trails in the same area: Emerald Lake, The "M", West Shore trail, Middle Cottonwood Canyon.

Weekend Warrior Summary: This trail is excellent. It is fairly steep until the first pass which gives you a small view back out of the canyon. Recommended Route: From Sypes Canyon to the intersection where it meets Cottonwood and ride down the trail to Cottonwood and then head down(left) to the Cottonwood Canyon Trailhead Other recommended trails in the same area: CottonWood Canyon, The "M"

, from Lewistown, MT Summary: A very fun trail that is close to town. It is a leg-burning uphill that is rewarding as hell on the way down. Be careful of those back rims if you aren't riding a full suspension.

, from Bozeman Summary: This trail is sweet. It starts off with a grueling climb but dont let it scare you away. Once you hit the first summit( you'll know because it is a unique rocky outcropping) the rest of the climb is moderate with a few technichal sections. Riding up this trail clean is a challenge but ive seen it done. Once at the top you can either turn around and come right back down which is great. Or if in the mood for a longer ride, you have two options. Take the left at the fork. you will drop into a downhill for a quarter mile and then start another climb that takes you over into cottonwood canyon. This downhill is wild. You feel like your on a motocross course and it is a lot of fun. Once at the bottom, you will need to take the exit road to the T and then a left will lead you back to sypes canyon road. About four hours for that ride. Or at the top of sypes trail you can take a left and head towards the M. This trail is hard. You will push your bike but some of the downhills are worth it. Do this trail if you are looking for adventure and you dont mind a little hard work to get it. Enjoy. Recommended Route: Take 19th or 7th out of town to the North. Take a right on Springhill. Then a right on Sypes Canyon Road. Take it to the end. Trail starts on the left.
