Weekend Warrior Summary: Good trail on the way down, the way up is all fire road and smooth with a good steady grade. Nice forest riding up the road but coming down you take a single track that is very fast and super sketch in places, you dont want to fall off your bike or lean the wrong way. The last 4 miles of the decent are down the fire road you started on and you can go as fast as your bike will allow, just watch out for other riders or people around the blind corners. Overall a good fun ride, 17 miles round trip. Recommended Route: 10 miles up the fire road, then 3 miles down single track and the other 5 down the fire road you came up.

Cross Country Rider Summary: the ride up is a simple affair, 10 miles up a forest road with a slight grade to reach Mystic Lake and Cabins.
at dam at lake you can take a 3 mi. ST which is as tuff as they come. sttep grades, roots, rocks BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY the ST carries along steep hillsides, that with and unfortunate encounter with a baby hed coudl send you plummeting down a 50 degree slope with nothing to hold on to but your faith. thes sections are short , less than 1/4 , so intermediate riders should walk it. rest of ST is ridable, but challenging.
ST joins main trail for 5 mile cast back to TH.
note: about 5 miles up from TH you come to bridge and will see sings for ST. skip it. in my opinion ,judging from descent , ST would be ridable uphill by only the tuffest and best amongst us. cross bridge to continue up FR. there aresigs all the way for Mscit Cabins.
1300' elevation gain over 10 mi to lake.
