Summary:
One of the best descents in Montana. Nice gradual grade. You'll be grinning and wondering just how much longer....

Recommended Route:
Park at Coram. Ride through Martin City on the east side of Hungry Horse Road(SE of Coram) and follow the first left when the sign says Desert Mountain. At a major marked intersection, take the left turn. Proceed 1/4 mile then go beyond the gate for about 20-30 minutes of climbing. You will encounter a sign on the uphill side of the road. This is the "middle of the downhill" (Trail goes accross the road here, go down or up). Ride the upper section, uphill from here (don't let the first few feet scare you) and its a great uphill single track that is easy. When you hit the road in 2 miles, you can go back down from there (on the trail you just climbed), or climb another 1000 vertical feet to the lookout, and there is a 4-wheeler trail you can ride back down.

Summary:
this trail starts with a kik butt climb for one half mile. then it levels off, when one reaches a forest service road at mile three perhaps, take a right and follow the road for another mile until you reach trail 44 on your left. take this left and climb the rest of the way mates. The top of desert is sweet, theres a lookout tower up there, notice that you are in the coram douglas fir experimental forest the whole time. this trail is also known as the ewalk forest, coined by a hardcore moab rider.

Recommended Route:
take highway 2 towards glacier park.Stop at the spruce park cafe, walk across the road and begin ride.
