Weekend Warrior Summary: Runaway Train is the first DH/A-line type trail from the top to the bottom of the mountain. Big Mountain is finally building DH trails all the way from the top. The new website has a video of the new trail.
Go to older vids and check it out.

Ridden Trail: Once a year

Racer Summary: This resort is known for its 8 mile "Summit Trail" which is a gentle, meandering, and wide trail that starts at the top of the Glacier Chaser Gondola and snakes down to the lodge at the bottom. Don't expect to break any speed records or be challenged until you get about 6 miles down from the top then you have a tiny skills park, or two slightly stunted trails to get you to the bottom. There have been problems in the past with illegal trails and lines so please avoid riding anything but posted trails. A full-on DH rig is out of place in this resort and is best suited for XC or 5in trail bikes unless you find the old Biker-X course (ask a liftie..its not on the map) Big mountain offers just enough terrain to keep you busy for a full day or mabey 2. I ride it every year when I pass through on vacation and its still fun. Recommended Route: Summit trail to skills park to daves dive to the car and to the bar! Other recommended trails in the same area: Would have liked to ride spencer before it got stripped down... old pictures look awesome and I never got the chance to see it in person. Heard that there might be some rebuilding though.
