Summary:
Ran this from the Rockwoods Range end, North to Rockwoods reserve. The trail is very hilly at both ends, with the hills even steeper at the Northern end. With the recent re-route the total length is about 14-15 miles. Fastest part of the trail is in Greensfelder where it follows the contours. Very rocky in places and one part to the North of Greensfelder where it might be easy to lose the trail (several trails and a logging road converge) so take a map and compass.

Summary:
Lots of climbing, fast single track, rocky technical sections, & fun. Take plenty of water and a spare tube on Declue. Probably my favorite place to ride in the St. Louis area.

Someone's been taking good care of these trails even with the equestrian traffic.

Probably not a good trail for beginners.

Recommended Route:
Dogwood is 2.6mile loop which I have only ridden CCW. Declue is 6.7 mile loop which I've ridden both CCW and CW but I like to ride CW best.

If it's your first time to Greensfelder I'd suggest cutting your teeth on the Dogwood loop first.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Chubb, Castlewood

Summary:
This trail is laden with smaller rock obstacles that are most satisfyingly tackled quickly. Many of the climbs are some of the most fun in the area, generally consisting of switchbacks up slopes that belie their steepness. There is a lot of pedaling whether descending or ascending and it can be tricky to judge remaining stamina needed to since the faster you go the more fun it is and it is easy to get caught up pushing at a fast pace alone or otherwise.

Recommended Route:
Dogwood loop to DeClue to Green Rock trail

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Chubb and Castlewood

Summary:
This trail has been rehabbed a LOT in the last couple of years by GORC. Try as they might the local equestrian community hasn't been able to screw up and destroy the new singletrack faster than GORC volunteers can get out and reroute/rebuild it. Because of this DeClue and Dogwood have both drastically improved making for what is now probably the best singletrack in the STL area.

Recommended Route:
Declue Clockwise although counter isn't worse per say, just harder. Dogwood CCW is what I prefer but once again not imperative.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Creve Coer Park
The Chubb

Summary:
Brought the singlespeed with me for a family Thanksgiving trip to St. Louis. Me and the b-in-law checked this trail out. My first impression as we drove into the park that it definitely was not flat. Only saw one other rider the whole time we were there. The fall leaves were out in force covering the trail to the point where you really had to be careful. Some very good climbs, good downs, and in some areas great rocky/tech singletrack. I will definitely go back, and I will prolly leave the single at home. Suspension with some gears would match this trail better.

Recommended Route:
Rode Declue, Dogwood, and Greenrock. Declue was my fave.
