Weekend Warrior Summary: If you like a plethora of switchbacks and fifty percent of the ride being on a narrow trail where one slip could land you practically killing yourself down a 70 degree incline, this is the place for you. The trails are technical and fairly demanding. I enjoyed the ride but was not expecting what I encountered. It's a gorgeous park overlooking the river and would encourage you to ride. I just wish I had a full suspension(specialized stumpjumper FSR) to tear down the trails with. Other recommended trails in the same area: Chubb, Castlewood

Cross Country Rider Summary: Short technical loops high above the Missouri River. Park is very nice and never very crowded. Nice showers available in the campground area. These trails are not intended for the beginner rider, but they also aren't really that hard. For more information and a detailed trail map, go to:
http://www.gorctrails.com/trails/mklondike.asp Recommended Route: I like parking near the conference building, riding up the paved trail to the top of Hogsback, down Hogsback, then over to ride donkey kong clockwise, then up to Strip Mine and ride it counter-clockwise, down Donjo's, then down through Power-line, back to the car. Evaluate any wounds and then do it in reverse. Other recommended trails in the same area: Technical: Chubb, Greensfelder
Fast & Fun: Lost Valley, Matson, Castlewood, Quail Ridge
Epic: Berryman, Council Bluff

Weekend Warrior Summary: Klondike is a great new state park with 2 short trails. While the trail to the left of the club house is not very difficult, the second trail that ends with the donkey kong loop is very technical and rewarding by its fantastic views. When I was there for the first time I had problems finding the second trail. Just go west towards the camp grounds where you will find the rest rooms and showers (they actually work and the doors are unlocked). The trail entrance is to the south just outside those buildings. The people who built these trails did a fantastic job! The trail is only a few minutes from the wineries in Augusta...so shower after the ride and get out there :)Tip: print the map off of this site and bring it with you. There are b/w maps available from the club house....but they are not very clear...

Weekend Warrior Summary: Great variety. Sheds water well. Worth the travel out there to ride. Look for new trail milage in the future, as well as some obstacles (elevated bridges, jumps, etc...) This is my favorite nearby trail Recommended Route: Donky Kong - clockwise
Hogsback - counterclockwise
Do it all both ways since it's so short. Other recommended trails in the same area: Lost Valley (new singletrack portion in 2004)
Matson Hill

Weekend Warrior Summary: I rode here with a group from Peoria, guided by one of the GORC gang...
The only complaint I have with this trail is:...there isn't enough of it!!
Hogsback is a switchy, long blast!!
Donkey Kong and the other loop, up in that end of the park, are just plain FUN!!
GORC is doing excellent (smithers) work here....keep it up!!!! Recommended Route: Go ride Donkey Kong and then come back down and ride Hogsback...then head to Mattson for a cool down ride and call it a great day...then the route to the nearest Chevy's for margaritas and tex mex food!!! Other recommended trails in the same area: Chubb
Mattson
Greensfelder (I hear...haven't ridden it..YET)
