There are currently four trails that are in the park. The low water trail is mostly flat, about 8 miles, and the others have a couple of good climbs. The terrain is dirt to loose gravel rock.
Head south from 70 on 270 to Big Bend and go right. Follow that to Ries road and turn left. This takes you to Kiefer Creek road and you turn left into the park entrance.
Summary: The trail that runs along the river has been shut down due to erosion. Access to Stinging Nettle trail and Blue Ribbon is only available through the Al Foster Trail at the Sherman Beach Park lot.
The trail network inside the park is better than ever with the newly added Rollercoaster trail.
Recommended Route: Easiest way to get to rollercoaster is to ride straight up from the ranger station (stay right at first fork) and at the next intersection stay straight. This trail will dump you back on the Grotepeter trail.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Cliff Cave, Greensfelder, Chubb Trail, SIUE, Silver Lake

Summary: Awesome place to ride, i think it is a bit longer than 15 miles for all of the trails. Many small jumps, technical sections, flat dirt sections, family riding, small paved section, lots of side trails, up/down sections, halfpipe type thingy, mostly singletrack trails, Go down by the river for easier riding or by the small creek at the beginnning of the park or ride some of the stuff at the beginning also for a more technical ride in the hills.
Recommended Route: Do all of the trails, Grotpeter trail is best clockwise, at the beginning of the Grotpeter trail after crossing the road, you can either take anerobic hill (very tough and no switchbacks) or you can go right for a switchback style climb.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Chubb Trail, Klondike, Queeny Park, Greensfelder, Berryman Trail, Lost Valley, Weldon Springs, St. Joe State Park, Ozark Trail (many different sections) Road biking, Creve Coure Lake, Forset Park, Katy Trail

Summary: These trails are great. You can find whatever you need no matter what kind of rider you are. There's great climbs, as well as miles of flat track to cruise on. They also recently added a cut-through trail from where the Grotpeter trail hits Reis Rd down to the ranger station. I rode it today, it still needs a little wear and tear, but it will be a good trail by next year.
Recommended Route: Stinging Nettle is a great flat, and I usually ride Grotpeter either way for a good climb.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Klondike, Chubb, Rock Bridge Park in Columbia,MO
